Title: Helping a fellow clusterhead
Post by sandie99 on May 30th, 2013 at 10:00am
My good friend emailed me that her friend has asked her if my headache was called ch. She said yes. It turned out that this friend has a friend whose friend's boyfriend has ch. And I was asked to email this man and help him out.

I said, naturally, that I'd love to help a fellow clusterhead out. I just need to know if this man is new to ch or simply wants to connect with another clusterhead. My friend got the impression that this man is a newbie and wants to know a lot about ch, but my friend promised to find it out for sure.

Now I'm waiting for that email and gathering the information I'll be sending to him. Naturally I will send him a link to ch.com, every clusterhead should know about this site, and a few others.

I'm happy that I can help out, but I'm also a bit terrified. I have no idea who diagnosed him, what kind of treatments he has, what kind of information he is looking for... And naturally, I know a lot about ch, treatments, life with ch in general. I need to be realistic about this condition, inform him, but I don't want to scare him.

Any advice?

Lots of hugs & PF days to all,
Sanna

HI Sanna,
My advice is to give him this website address.

Comfort him advising he is not alone and that you and thousands of others on this website truly understand what he is enduring.

Ask questions about his CH's and share stories together.  It's always nice to have a comforting friend who can relate. ;)

Hi Sanna

I'd just talk and let him take the lead on what he wants to discuss. But what I suspect he'll want to know is that he is not alone and that others go through what he is going through, plus some pointers on what works, what doesn't.

And direct him here too, so he can see all that there is here both information and support from others who understand.

Good advice already!
Maybe as you discuss CH you can direct him to certain links or threads here about treatments or discussions in progress here also. Google info that can help him too. Point out the things that are working best for CHers such as the D3 regimen or Busting, Melatonin etc... Best of luck!! I know he will be well informed after talking to you and it is a wonderful thing to enlighten a new CHer...:)...Johnny

Thank you, guys. :)

I send a long, long email to this man. I told him a little bit about my ch, what treatments and meds I've used over the years, what ch is, and mentioned both Finnish & international links.

He can now find his way here if he wants to. I told about D3, oxygen, melatonin, busting, energy drinks.

Now I just hope that I managed to mention something new and helpful to him.

PF days to us all,
Sanna
