Title: D3 ? Post by MichaelL on Jun 5th, 2013 at 8:28pm
Greetings from Cody,wy.
My first post, but I have been lurking over the past few years. I'm episotic, last cycle was 2years ago. This new cycle started about 4 weeks ago. About 3 weeks ago I started the D3 regimen. It took about 5 days to become effective. I enjoyed 7 PF days & nights. The BEAST returned last night. CH at Kip 3-4 aborted quickly with O2. shadows all day long, just finished another CH again at Kip 3-4. Anyone else experience this return of CH's while on the D3 regimen? Any suggestions ? I read that some of us get relief by taking a single 50K dose of D3 then return to the daily dose of 10-15K. Again any thoughts on this. Thanks Mike |

Michael,
The return of the Beast I have not experienced. I went pf at about a month after starting regimen and havent gotten hit since. You do not mention having a vit d level test??? I would get the test results and then adjust doseage accordingly. The week before I went pf I was at 54 ng/ml. so I was probably at approx. 60 ng/ml when went pf. Another idea. You could have a low artieal ph promoting vasodilation triggering ha. Also this may prevent your body's ability to use your elevated d3 levels. I added to regimen, 1/2 tsp. baking soda in water 3 or 4 times a day (per Batch ) to raise ph. Immediate lowering in number/intensity of ha's, then pf a week later. |

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll call my doc and schedule a Vit D test. MIght even check on getting a reading on my arterial PH at the same time. I just drank my first glass of h2O with the baking soda. Hopefully it will provide positive results. Thanksagain Mike |

Michael, I started the D3 regimen right at the beginning of last year's episode (I'm a once-a-year episodic). I had a similar experience. My episode was greatly altered, but not prevented--far fewer attacks at much lower pain levels. But the cycle did last around a week longer than usual. I also did not get my blood tested at the time. I stayed on the regimen after it ended, had myself tested 5 months ago (great levels now), and things are looking very good. I'll be posting in the "123 Days PF" thread soon to report my results. So if you are having a noticeably altered cycle, hang in there and keep up the regimen. ~pattik |

Its also important to know where your d3 is coming from as most company's derive it from lanolin in sheeps wool. If you are sensative/allergic to wool, I would look into d3 that is derived from vegitable sources. Also you do need to supplement the d3 with the omega 3 fish oil. I use the omega 3 fish oil and the omega 3 flaxseed oil. And it is also important to take Magnesium along with it. Magnesium aids in d3 absorbtion. Hope this helps.

Thanks to all that have replied. Just got off the O2 for the 3rd time today. As I mentioned in my previous post, I began the D3 regimen about 4 weeks ago and had a PF period after about a week on the regimen. Since then the Beast has returned, but the CH's are not as intense. Usually get hit at midnight and again at 4:00 AM. Hits at 2:00,5:00 and 8:00 PM. I can usually abort in 5-10 minutes with O2. I haven't stopped the D3 regimen which includes
15K D3 2400 mg Omega 3 Fish Oil 1 Centrum Silver 1200 mg Calcium Citrate I take this at supper. I have also been drinking 4 glasses of water with 1/2 tsp of baking soda daily. I intend to stay on this hoping that I'll get some relief. I'll also get a d3 test then plan accordingly. No allergies that I'm aware of. Thanks again Mike |
