I am a 43yr of female sufferer and been since the age of 15 but haven't suffered from them in around 4 yrs. and read in a headache book that at the age of 40 I should outgrow them but not so. I have found that during the attack icepack on the effected side of my head does help stop it sooner but not much else helps. Anyway I wanted to share this I also was looking for the traits of people w/Clusters this is what is said lol " most have a lion like apprearance with lines on the forehead and a hard looking person I dont think thats true but thought it was at least comical lol give you all a laugh even though your gonna suffer to3

You'll also find that the same medical textbooks will most likely say that women don't get CH, only migraines.

Given that these text books were as recent as the 1980s, it isn't too surprising that so many doctors, even neurologists know next to nothing useful about CHs and how to treat them. This is why we always recommend that people work with a headache specialist.

What are you using for your CHs, other than an ice pack? Have you any preventives, like verapamil or lithium, to cut down the number of CHs you get? Have you anything to abort them when they arrives like oxygen or injectable imitrex?

Tell us more about your CHs, how you treat them and where you are in the world and we may be able to give you some useful advice.

Welcome home, Crissykays,

It's not just the leonine face. If you read and believe the old works we also have 'onion-peel' skin - whatever that may be.

Us blokes, that is, because women don't get CH.

My personal research over 35 years shows only two confirmed traits - lady CHeads are stunningly beautiful and all supporters are gold.

I think that's an "orange peel" like skin (lots of deep pores in the skin). Let's not forget the hazel/blue eyes either.
