so i have a question .. the oxygen that you all breath in ,,, does it seem cold to you ?

i know when my son put ice in his mouth at the back of his jaw last time it seemed to help ..

if you want to try ice water you could try a netti pot with cold water in it .. although if your sinus is blocked when you have a CH it wont work,, with a runny nose you may have good results.

Since this will constrict the blood vessels of the trigeminal nerve, chances are it will abort an attack...providing of course the nostril is not congested or runny which are common symptoms of during attack.  Adverse side effects?  Cost?  Availability?

But why not just hyperventilate o2 and abort within a few minutes?  o2 is very inexpensive, easily available and no adverse side effects.

Time frame of this study is 20 minutes.  I, for one, would not feel comfortable holding something up my nose for 20 minutes while tortured by the dragon.

On the flip side, I find it always a pleasure to read something creating awareness of CH's. Interesting article though, thanks for sharing ;)

Not surprising as one of my emergency tricks was putting my face up to an car AC vent and inhaling through the nostril on the affected side. Or putting my face in the freezer and doing the same thing. others have posted of going outside on freezing nights and breathing in through their nostrils. It never stopped an attack, but would really ratchet down the pain level for me.
