Title: Some of you guys may remember me...
Post by Jim R on Aug 8th, 2013 at 3:25pm
...from several years ago. I haven't been on since then because I lost my login and password in a laptop debacle.  I am an episodic. I have been PF for three years and thought I was done (58 now and my neurologist told me as my arteries hardened I could expect relief - well, that's good and bad, because they have come back...)

I am unemployed, have no health insurance, have 3 nasal snorts of imitrex left, no O2 and no way of getting any. I am thinking this might be from the decreasing light and maybe my arteries NOT hardening. But whatever, I am dreading this. For the last 3 nights, I have not wanted to go into REM sleep because I am scared. So, I haven't slept.  And I am very irritable and have one coming on now.  I need the support.  Welcome back, clusterbud!...  :'(

It’s a vitamin/mineral/fish oil supplement, all over the counter stuff. It’s up to an 81% success rate of those who try it and respond to the survey so you’re just shooting yourself in the foot if you don’t give it a shot.  Best of all, it’s healthy for you even without CH!

As of January 20, 2013, the compiled raw data indicates an efficacy of 80%. 240 out of the 300 CH'ers who have started this regimen and stayed on it for a month or more have experienced a significant reduction in the frequency and severity of their CH... 78% of the 300 CH'ers experienced a pain free response and 60% of the 300 have remained essentially pain free. Episodic and chronic CH'ers respond to this regimen at roughly the same rate.

Preliminary survey results indicate most of these CH'ers were pain free before the end of the third week with some responding in a little as 12 to 24 hours. The average time to respond is five days

I can attest to this treatment as well. It has kept me pain-free for over a year now.

Welcome back, Jim, and condolences on needing to be here. We certainly understand the fear and the pain. And so far you have related what you "can't" do. Now we need to hear what you are doing to take control of this instead of letting the beast lead you around on a leash. The D3 regimen is a good thing. So is welder's O2. Energy drinks do help. I take a double Monster slammed down when a hit is coming. And some pharmaceutical companies will assist with med refills if you are unable to afford them. There's more but you know the drill: attack the pain as best you can. God bless. lance

Jim,

Like Lance said, go the welders oxygen route.  You won't need a doctors script and I have found that a very large tank of welders to be cheaper than a large tank of medical 02. The last time I had mine filled it cost 26.00  and lasted me through MANY headaches.
