Title: Hello Post by bex_81 on Aug 16th, 2013 at 12:08pm
Hi,
I am new to the forum, I do not suffer clusters but have just been discharged from hospital and diagnosed with thunderclap headache (tch). I know this is a cluster headache site but is the closest type of headache I can find that has a forum. Just looking for people who have suffered with TCH. Did you get a surreal feeling afterwards and tingling on one side of body and thought/speaking difficulty? The headache it self started out of the blue, thought I was dying, started vomitting (now understand the saying "my heads killing me") and then as quick as it had started it had gone. Good knews was that it was nothing more - no bleed on brain, no clots and no virus. However, still have these weird feelings like my head is full of water, my hand sometimes feels like its not mine and this ringing in my ear that just won't stop. Only had the headache 5 nights ago. First one and hopefully last one. Never had severe headaches before just "normal" ones that painkillers work for. Hope to find someone who can enlighten me a little as the Dr's at hospital said they cannot guarantee it won't happen again and no information on how I can prevent them, control them. GP was a sack of crap and just said to me that a thunderclap headache is only associated with a bleed on the brain! :o I had to explain what the hospital had said then he said just take paracetamol! It didn't even last as long as it takes for paracetamol to take effect! :-/ So if there is anyone who can offer any advice I would be very appreciative! :o :) |
