All my talk with our northern aborigines and TS islanders suggests headaches are the result of only hangovers or malarial-type diseases. Primary headaches like migrain and CH seem to be unknown.

Admittedly, there's much that the ladies would never discuss with a white fella like me. It's women's business.

This is purely by way of camp-fire chatter, but I've long found it interesting.

Simple answer, No!  My hypothesis is CH's torture Caucasians mostly; followed by Hispanic, Semitic, Asian, Black.

I also believe the % of melanin we produce (or lack thereof) has much to do with CH's, which adds validity to the D3 deficiency theory.

Interesting that this was not addressed n the big survey. I know Ruthy is African American, so it's not exclusive to one race, but I would be curious to see what the numbers are.

Not sure about the Clusters, but I know I have read in an old Native American herbal medicine book that taking peyote can alleviate migraines...so at the very least Native Americans get migraines...

Medical literature search covering seveal decades turned up only two specific mentions of race. One saying only that there isn't any reason for considering race in making a diagnosis; the second, reporting seveal cases in S. Africa.

I suspect that an absence of non-whites in Cluster literature may reflect economic differentials which exclude non-whites from medical care. The impact of lower incomes, overall, and resulting restrictions in education level feed a lack of awareness of obscure medical problems.

Several decades ago this was a disease afflicted only by lion faced men who smoke. ;D

We have since made great strides in our CH education.  Mostly because internet access is commonplace worldwide.

One can take a look at the "where we live" tab and clearly see the demographics include every race worldwide, but in an order of Caucasians mostly followed by Hispanic, Semitic, Asian, Black.

I think the incredible success of the anti-inflammatory regimen as it pertains to melanin (d3) deficiency is very telling about how CH impact Caucasians moreso than other races.

On this same concept of melanin deficiency, skin cancer is also primarily a Caucasian disease.

I agree with Bob on this. Lower level of income means fewer can afford a computer. Without a computer we can't be on this website.

When I spoke with my neuro here in Japan, he said that he treats several cluster headache patients. Guess we can rule out the Caucasian only hypothesis.
