Post by KegKe on Sep 4th, 2013 at 4:55pm
Hey

I'm Kevin From Belgium  8-). i'm 29 years old. First of all i would like to say sorry for my language! I can speak it pretty well but writing is something different.

Anyway, why i'm here... I'm having clusters since 4 years. It started in Indonesia on summer holiday (that suckt). Whent trough several tests and nothing was found. I've gotten some heavy migraine medication but it wasn't working. Since then I tried to drink a red bull when cluster was kickin' inn. It worked for a long time but it was disturbing me from sleep. When sleep was finaly found "the beast" woke me up.

Damn i'm glad i found this place on the net. So i'm starting to read this forum and hope i can find some good solutions for this! I can use it!

I'm a teacher, if this would happen during a lesson! It would be the whorse nightmare ever! Glad i never had one @ work!

Thanks for creating this Forum!!

This is not a disorder which you can safely diagnose or treat. There are many disorders which mimic Cluster headache but which are not headache disordes. Some of them are quite serious. self-diagnosis and treatment is simply not wise.

I'd encourage you to start searching you health care system for a headache specialist or, if this doesn't give any results, ask the social service/workers in you local hospital for information. They may know either of a specialist or know about physicians who have experience and skill in treating headache disorders.

In many ways, your health care system is better than ours in the U.S. and I would be surpised if you can't find a good specialist.

My docter has "diagnosed" cluster headaches. After several researches. But indeed what you say is true! Our system is so much more easy than yours. I really do understand.

The only thing my docter couldn't help me with was finding the right specialist. I've done all the test even Cancer and all those things that went trough my mind. But nothing came out. That is the reason why i'm here after 4 years. I don't believe in docter google...

Hello Kevin, and welcome! While you are searching for a specialist, it does sound like your current doctor is sympathetic. Have you looked into oxygen? Or Imitrex? They can both be very effective in aborting a cluster. You must use oxygen as we describe at left, and Imitrex needs to be used carefully. Good luck and God bless. lance
