Title: I gave it up
Post by pubgirl on Sep 6th, 2013 at 8:02pm
I gave up the fags (cigarettes to you non Brits) became menopausal and my biannual?biennual? seasonal ECH cycles ended. Utter Joy does not even begin to cover it. I expect a deluge of "coincidence" thoughts but giving up smoking I truly believe for ME was a large part of my escape from the beast

Hi Pubgirl,

Within a week or less, you will feel better than you were as a smoker.

You will no doubt be healthier, and emotionally feel more confident when speaking with others near you because you will smell less, and your teeth/skin/breath/hair/fingertips will all be noticeably cleaner.

Your lungs will heal remarkably faster than you think and food/drinks will taste so much better as well as scents of foods/flowers/etc will be more noticeable and pleasant.

Enjoy your life that has now been extended by your awesome choice!  Congratulations! ;)

Goooooood for you, Wendy!

I wish quitting had the same result for me, but I'm glad I quit about 6 years ago for all of the other reasons.

The surveys don't show that as a significant factor in stopping CH.....but who cares! :D You're pain free and your body is digging the fact you don't smoke anymore. I'm hoping your remission lasts a lifetime.

It definitely probably isn't an escape, but your next round, the severity of pain may be less.  I have noticed this when I quit many years ago.  If i'm even near cig smoke, a cluster will be following.  This is why I can't comprehend how others can smoke during a hit.  I never smoked during a hit, never drink during a cycle.
