I love it, Barb - I'm a dog guy. Always have been.
I'm down to one now, but he is with me 24/7. Goes to the office with me and I leave the car running to keep him cool when I have to stop at a store. (Looks like you guys have a gotten a weather break, at least in temperature!) I see you have the picture posting nailed down! Marc |

Marc, I got a Smart phone and have to practice a lot with the pics, but I'm getting the hang of it and can now do it. I'm so proud and it only took about 15 years or so. :) My next project is this darn scanner.. :-?
I'm down to three dogs and three cats right now. (pit/boxer, pit/mastiff and this "full blood Cass County Yard Dog that's on the couch). The cats rule the dogs. they're all my "babies", but I live so far out in the boonies that they are protective and do get that way if a stranger comes up until I tell them it's ok. I know people get "silly" about their dogs, but mine are just family and know it. :-* |

My Aunt used to say that if there was such a thing as reincarnation, she would want to come back as one of her dogs.

Oh no Charlie... I want to come back as my friend John's dog.. He takes his to the "spa" once a month for a massage and grooming and gets up in the middle of the night if they want a treat and jumps if they ask for something... they have him trained a lot better than mine do me. :)
I have mine a Plastic swimming pool (told 'em it was a spa) that they play in and it does have fish in the bottom that they try to catch.. Wellll.. it keeps 'em clean and cool. The pit/boxer lays down and just rolls in it - she loves it. The others think the fish are neat and try their best to "dig" them off the bottom. So far they haven't caught any, but they keep trying. the cats just sit on the porch and watch them and think they're crazy. But the funniest thing is watching the cat "chase" the dog. This little cat will chase the 50 pound dog across the yard till the dog turns and then the cat runs and then the cat turns and the dog runs. They do this till the cat gets tired and then they kiss and come back to the porch and take a nap. Crazy animals. :-* |

Which is why they offer us endless entertainment. Our two cats keep us endlessly amused with their antics. |

I was camped beside the loveliest creek when a bloke drove up, opened his back door, and out crawled a Queensland Blue cattle dog. These are truly a magnificent beast, brilliant among the stock, true family dogs and a snake's greatest enemy, but this poor thing's back legs had long stopped working as he dragged himself down to the water.
I detest all cruelty and was just getting up to re-educate the owner when Blue dog retrieves his first stick and waits for it to be thrown back out. He was a puppy again and didn't even need to dog-paddle, that wagging tail would have swum him around the world. The owner eventually waded in and picked him up bodily for the trip back to the car. Dog's still got his stick and the biggest smile a dog can have. His old tail was going fast enough to perfectly chill a beer and I drank happily to the health of them both. |
