Title: new here
Post by still-laughing on Sep 23rd, 2013 at 4:18pm
HA! so after 3 years like this I FINALY found out that God isn't out to get me and there are other people like this! Awesome Im in a good mood totally pain free TODAY ... so far anyway.  So the welcome page said to say some stuff so I will  Im 35 suffering three years now The first two where chronic 3-5 a day everyday non-stop then I got a nerve block--effing sweeeeeet-- 3 months with nothing but as Im sure you all know they just came back after that 5 more blocks that do nothing but now a session lasts like three weeks at 2-4 a day ( usually)  and I find that to be much better than never ever stopping.

I thought Id also take a second to share stuff I have learned  that most of you already know but if you don't now you will
This sucks
Sumatriptan makes me not eat
not eating makes me skinny and being skinny makes the dosepro hurt more
insurance companies don't believe  you need this much medicine... no matter how much you yell and curse

I hate people who say " I had a cousin with migraines so I know how you feel"   I wish they all would die
-- as a side note  whats fun about wishing someone would die is that you always get your wish because eventually we all die...but I digress

I hate being out of shots at work and people who say do you want an asprin

theres more but I just saw the time and I gotta go

I will vent later

Hello

Glad you found this site, but sorry you had to.

The thing we must remember about non-clusters is; though it seems they are being rude or insensitive, they cannot know how we feel. For the most part they are trying to identify or help us anyway they can. I used to get very upset when people would say things like want an aspirin, my cousin / brother, etc.. gets those too! People are ignorant, which isn't a bad thing, it is our job to educate them.

On another note, please review the D3 regime that many kind folks around here talk about. It has helped me. Almost a year without that filthy beast showing up! Thanks CH.COM!!!

Welcome to the board. The good new is you'll never be alone again. Now stop smoking lose ten pounds stop being so stressed and the headaches will stop! :D (a nickel for all the well intention suggestions we've received in our lifetimes.)

Have you tried oxygen yet as an abortive? It works almost as fast as the imtrex for me, costs  a fraction of the amount and no side effects. Check out the link when you get a second:

This link will show you how to get set up with welding oxygen:

Has your doc ever suggested any prevent meds with you, Verapamil, Topomax Lithium etc?

Joe

Still Laughing.. sorry you're here, but glad you found us. Go ahead and vent. There's probably nothing you can say that we haven't said or heard and we DO understand. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

Listen to Joe and check out the links he posted for you. O2 is the greatest thing ever. It works (if used properly) for about 70% of us. I personally swear by it (and I'm chronic).

And if I had a nickel for every piece of advice I've been given on how to "cure" my headaches I'd be rich beyond my wildest dreams. (maybe I should start asking for nickels when I get advice ;)) ... anyhow THEY mean well.. they just don't know any better.

But do see a good neuro and get a prevent and keep us up to date on how you're doing. Like I said - we DO understand and are here for you so you're not alone.  :-*
