Title: Sure this has been said before... Post by TeeJ2379 on Oct 5th, 2013 at 9:27pm
But here is something I learned during my first cycle. Again, I'm sure its well known to the vets, but just noting it for my own piece of mind.
1. Hydration helps! Most likely this is why some find relief with water water water noted on this site. 2. For me spicy food is a no no. I always have worse days after eating spicy food the day before. Most likely I feel this ties into number 1, as spicy food dehydrates me. Not a trigger really, but just felt more shadows the next day for sure. 3. Good nights sleep! - I know the nature of CH is to have attacks soon after sleep - but once you are on a preventative trying to sleep regular hours is really helpful. Melatonin helped me with this. Hopeful this helps someone! |

Until somewhat recently, I was chronic for 14 years. After many years, you have a chance to try different things and test the impact on the attacks.
- Spicy foods and hydration have zero impact on my CH's. - Sleep was a guaranteed method of getting hit within 45 minutes. - My most pain free times were sleep derpived, super high stress periods. Just for what it's worth. Marc |

Ah yes...the personal nature of CH! Verapamil is magic for one, worthless for another! Stress brings on attacks for some, prevents attacks for others. It's truly the nature of the beast. ;)

Marc, 45 minutes is pretty fast. Have you ever been tested by a sleep lab? Also: you may be a good candidate for Melatonin, if you haven't tried it already.
