I wanted to thank everyone on this site as you all have been of soooooooooooooooo much help and support. Still in cycle..8th week in, do not know when it will end, but fighting it off with 02 and sumax...luckily on Sunday, I get my first Imitrex kit...and Zomig inhalable spray form the united states...so that does comfort me for worse case scenarios.
You guys are amazing :) Greetings |

Be very careful mixing the triptans. It's a big no no!

Yes, read a loooooooooooooooooot about triptans and not going to mix them, since a Neurologist here gave me 2 diferent triptans (sumatriptan and rizatriptan) and combined with amitriptiline I started having really bad tachicardia, so dug into the net and found that there are some medicines that can not me mixed. Went to a cardiologist just get a check up, and everything is ok. Sometimes these Neurologists make me angry! But anyway...I guess internet is better than all the specialists I have seen in my country.
Ordered everything I need for the Vit d3 regime, ordered some melatonin...will only have the Zomig and the Imitrex for worse case scenarios. Going to use the 02 , ice and only sumax for now, as it does help getting all of that in 2 weeks, so meanwhile I will not the beast win or get me down. :) |

Hi Tiffany,
Glad to read you are getting all the vitamins so that you can start taking the vitamin D3 Regime. Just don't expect to have instant relief. It can take up to 3mths to kick in as it did for me, but now touch wood i'm cluster free. :) Good Luck, Hoppy. |

Thank you Hoppy :) I know it takes some time to kick in, but knoooow that it will work.
Bad thing is that there is no such test of the 25 oh d here :/ so do not know how I will be monitoring my levels |
Title: Re: ThaNk YoU!!!!!! Post by maz on Oct 23rd, 2013 at 5:07pm
You can buy the test on line and do it yourself. You send it off and they send you the results. I know it's available in USA and England so may be worth looking in your area. Sorry I can't post a link but if you google 25(OH)D some thing may come up. Here in England it costs about £25-30.

Hi Tiffany,
I'ts best to do the test after being on the regime for 1mth to see where your vitamin D level sits. It needs to be around 80 ng/ml serum concentration to get the best result. Hoppy. |

Hoppy I have a question for you, talking about the whole vitamin D3 regime...I was thinking about something. I do realize that when I am doing a lot of outdoor activities ( I am a photographer so I am out and about...) When I am in cycle and am out, and have a lot of sun I notice that my attacks at night are not aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas bad. I wonder if that has anything to do with how Sunshine helps the body sinthesize vitamin D? hrmmmmm...it is odd though, but I have noticed that. If I am out on a shoot, or out on a walk in the sun, my night hits might be a kip 6 compared to kip 9. Lately since I don't get out much, could it be that the lack of sunshine might potence my attacks? I also work at a pharmaceutical company and when I am locked inside with no sun , (in cycle) I do realize that they are worse. Just thought about all of this....
Now the odd thing is that, heat...at night, does trigger an attack. My CH are only at night times, have almost never had them being awake. And all I know is that my temperature rises a looooooooooooooooooot and can't stand heat. |

Heat is a known trigger for some people. Especially if you are active, ie. excersise in the heat for example. Your theory about lack of sunshine making it worse sounds feasible to me. Just keep taking the vitamins then it won't matter.

Hi Tiffany,
I've posted a thread heat and sun a trigger. I thought this might help answer some of your :question. Hoppy. |
