Title: moved and now My cluster schedule changed?
Post by Markmitch on Nov 6th, 2013 at 9:25pm
I always had clusters every 3 years Had them last year for 10 horrible weeks. I recently moved from New Hampshire to Valley Springs Ca. And now I am having very mild cluster headaches. So far once a night and O2 works. Any ideas on why I am getting them off schedule.

Markmitch,

You're likely vitamin D3 deficient.  Now that you've moved to inland central California, you're getting a lot more sunshine and your skin is making more cutaneous vitamin D3 in response.  That's the likely reason for the change in your CH pattern for the better.

See the anti-inflammatory regimen list of supplements with 10,000 IU/day vitamin D3 and dosing guide at the following link then discuss it with your PCP when you ask for the 25(OH)D lab test.

The normal reference range for 25(OH)D is 30 to 100 ng/mL and your target serum concentration as a CH'er is in a range of 60 to 110 ng/mL.  That makes your target serum concentration 85 ng/mL to remain pain free.

I suspect you'll have a favorable response to this regimen.

Take care and please keep us posted.

V/R, Batch

One of the most common misunderstands about Cluster is that the signs & symptoms are universal, fixed in time and duration, etc.

At this stage of our knowing, we barely grasp the source of Cluster. Never have I seen anything trying to explain, with any evidence, the variations which dog most of us.

I'm still living in the same place I've been for the past 7 years or so, and the beast decided first to wait an extra year before coming (NOT complaining at all) than in the past, then showed up at the beginning of fall for the first time (for me) instead of the beginning of spring.

It happens, I guess.  :-/
