Hi guys. I'm back, up over again in dear old Blighty. We had an absolutely fabulous time and the highlight was meeting up with Aussie Brian and his lovely lady friend Denny. They were perfect company and we had many good laughs, great conversation and fantastic food. I will miss them both. If I can figure out how to do it (computer dunce) I'll put up a picture.


The only down side to the trip was that the devil came along as usual. I was really hoping the D3 would put an end to him but it was not to be. I had a k4 on 4 separate flights, at the beginning of the descent about 20 mins before landing, so maybe that's what triggered them.  I had a k6 while out for a drink with Brian- had a beer, (but had beer and other alcohol on other occasions which had no effect), had another while out in the opal fields,(a bit strenuous an VERY hot), two came along within an hour of each other during the night in Cairns,(very hot and EXTREMELY humid) and one at 2am in Sydney for no apparent reason. But one thing I have learned is that the devil doesn't need a reason to visit. When they got to k6 I used an injection so they didn't ramp up any higher. Apart from losing a bit of sleep I wasn't going to let it spoil my fun. Thank God for sumatriptan.

So now we're home and it's sooooooooooo cold. We have a months worth of laundry, no food in the house and I haven't even thought about Christmas, so a busy time ahead.

What will I do with myself now that I have no holiday to plan ?

Brian and I had a truly beaut time with Maz & Len! It all went too quickly! This was only the second time Brian & I have come face to face with another CHer and supporter. ( Kiwi Mike & Sandi visited us just over a year ago). On both occasions I wondered if Brian would find the experience confronting - but he managed to handle it OK both times - even when Maz got hit in his presence not long after they'd met.

Meeting Len too, was special for me. Being able to look someone in the eye and tell him there are times when you cry yourself to sleep out of compassion, helplessness & frustration is cathartic. I sincerely hope that Len felt this way too.

You'll all be pleased (amazed, incredulous??) to know that while Maz & Len were here Brian was on his best behaviour!!!!!!! Not once did I feel the need to pretend I'd never met him! This augurs well for any other CHers who might be contemplating a sojourn down under that includes the tropical patch of country where Aussie Brian and I have the fortune to reside.

In case I don't get back to this site before it all happens - have a very Merry Christmas and a 2014 full of positive promises!
