Title: Carnet Demand Valve - Replacement Exhalation Valve Post by CHMatt on Jan 24th, 2014 at 12:10pm
Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement exhalation valves for my Carnet demand valve in the US? Mine broke last night. Lifegas (who I purchase it from) and Linde no longer carry them. Lifegas suggested I contact BPR Medical, who doesn’t deal with patients directly (CORRECTION - THE BPR MEDICAL US DISTRIBUTOR, APPLIED HOME HEALTHCARE EQUIPMENT HAS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. BPR MEDICAL HAS BEEN HELPFUL)and who have poor customer service if you’re a patient – they couldn’t get me off the phone fast enough once they found out I was a patient). I can’t find anywhere to buy these replacement parts. Carnet does not seem to have their own website now, either. Everywhere I look they refer me to Linde or BPR, or BOP, who are a division of Linde in the UK. I will gladly purchase a 10-pack if that’s what it takes to get it ordered and fast. Thanks

Matt....
I was unaware LifeGas stopped selling these.....I've sent a couple of emails in an attempt to find a parts source. I'll let you know what I find out. |

At a minimum they've stopped selling the replacement exhalation valves. I can't say for certain they no longer sell the demand valves themselves. Please let me know what you hear. Thanks.

I've received a reply....LifeGas DOES still sell them. Check your PM's for a contact email.

LifeGas does still sell the demand valves, but does not carry the accessories, so I'm still looking for a replacement exhalation valve. I sent out emails to the suggested sources but have not got back a response yet.

Ok, I tried everyone's suggestions and no luck - I'm still looking. If anyone else has any other suggestions I'd very much appreciate the help. Does anyone "across the pond" know if these are easier to obtain there? I believe Carnet was aquired by BPR Medical, so it'd be a question of if there are suppliers in the UK of their demand valve and these replacements. I'm in the middle of a very active period of headaches right now and am occassionaly rough on the gear when the KIP level goes up, so I'd very much like to have a backup on hand for when the time comes. In fact, I'd rather just buy a 10 pack (which is one of their packages) so I don't have to go through this quest again any time soon. Thanks.

So here's the latest on my quest:
I finally got in contact with someone from BPR Medical, who was very helpful and set me up with a replacement. He stated that although LifeGas has not been purchasing replacement Exhalation Valves for the Carnet demand valve, they should be. The gentleman I exchanged emails with is an international account manager with BPR Medical and he said he will be speaking with LifeGas about this matter. When I spoke with Gail at LifeGas she said that Anthony stated that they will not be carrying that part any longer, so this may not be a done deal yet. For the record, BPR has been a class act to deal with (it was their US distributor that had poor customer service that I incorrectly blame BPR for in my initial post - sorry BPR) Regardless, if anyone comes up with good leads it wouldn't hurt to have them on hand.
