Title: Gamma Core device- final week
Post by Mike Bernardo on Mar 15th, 2014 at 11:04am
I hate to give it back. Not only has it relieved/abated all but one attack (the one it didn't occurred the day I got the flu, so draw your own conclusions), but it actually worked as a preventive, short term, similar to the nerve blocks, partially because it put me back on a regimen of sleeping, no pain, eating right, etc. due to the pain relief. Quite an amazing device and I hope it's approved soon. I'm sure it won't work for everyone as it seems it works if you're not as severe (I'm not nearly as bad as many as you). I've had some "8" attacks but I'm generally a "6" man so I'm pretty lucky. I get the side effects, the eye pulling, redness, stuffiness and especially the appearance that I'm in cocaine and can't sit still and talking fast due to agitation but by no means am I banging my head against the wall. I hope some of you get the device when approved and it works. Maybe that will lead to further enhancements that will work for everyone.

Wow sounds exciting.  I have a question, I looked on-line at their site.  They say treatment time is 90 seconds (may have read that wrong), so you get slammed with an attack, you stick this thing under your chin for 90 sec and turn the dial till you feel an impulse. Then what?  Do you immediately feel the pain start to abate?  Will it completely abort and how long we talking till relief?

In trials it is 90 seconds for 3 times (270 seconds total). For the 15-20 times I used it, took between 20-45 minutes for complete resolution of the headache. 1 exception was when I discovered the next day I had the flu which explained why the HA didn't abort.
