Title: Spring has sprung. So has my cluster cycle.
Post by ClusterMike80 on May 7th, 2014 at 2:56am
Hello all.  I am predominantly a seasonal sufferer. Major spring cycle. Minor fall. A few sporadic cluster headaches pop up here and there.  Though my maintenance meds help. Shadows started two weeks ago.  The beast hit Friday!  Despite maintaining topamax  dose.  Started prednisone, vitamin regimen and increased  topomax that day.  I haven't had a headache in two days.   I also can't sleep or remember words. (flushed the toilet today before use, thank you dopamax).  But I suppose blissful idiocy is better than crippling pain.

This is the first year I have used the full vitamin regimen and not just vitamin D.  It has made a big difference I think and in just 5 days. Normally I would still feel significant residual pain and pressure and I am on a lower steroid dose than usual.

Another thing I wanted to address is I have noticed several posts where people question cluster headaches association to autoimmune disease.

I myself have a variety of non specific chronic inflammation issues. Most often treated with steroids.  I am only 33 and all of these ailments have been ongoing for almost  a decade.  I have often questioned linkage.    Thought?

Can't answer the question about CH's relation to the auto immune disorder, but would suggest you consider staying on the D-3 regimen year round. I just hit 4 years pain free after well over 30 years of episodic CH. I am fanatical about my daily D-3 regimen! :)
