Title: Happy 4th
Post by BarbaraD on Jul 3rd, 2014 at 8:48am
wishing everyone a PF 4th of July. I'm heading out to Hot Springs to spend it with my kids and grandkids.

Got a recipe for a Watermelon Cake.. Oh come on... it's Red, White and Blue and looks about half good (well different anyhow).. Caleb and I are going to stop in Hope and get one of those good watermelons to make it.

But you guys have a safe and PF and fun holiday, but remember the reason for it... The fireworks are just a reminder of what we have in this country...  :-*

Even though I adore watching and blowing up fireworks, F**K China-who has greatly assisted to destroy, not help, our great country!

Happy Independence Day to all of us Patriotic Americans~ ;)

My soon to be 14 yr old son and I enjoyed an annual parade in our small suburban town of Summerlin outside of Sin City, then we swam and soaked in the sun/palm tress/music among unique waterfalls at a fantastic pool outside a local world class resort called JW Marriott/The Resort at Summerlin.  Presently awaiting the baby back ribs on the bbq grill to be slow cooked along w/ corn on the cob and delicious watermelon, followed by fireworks display at 9pm (from you guessed it, China:-X) at a local suburban resort called Red Rock Casino/Hotel in Summerlin.

Hope everybody here at ch.com is having a fun and safe holiday weekend! ;)

-Gregg in Las Vegas

I just KNEW it was somewhere in Vegas.. :)

I had a GREAT 4th. Met my kids in AR (well I had the oldest grandkid with me and met the others) and we spent the weekend roasting by the pool. The grandkids and Granny had a great time while the parents did their thing.

On Friday night the parents went to a concert in Hot Springs and Granny took the boys out to dinner (after she got them out of the pool). We got our food and were ready to eat when we started to say grace... The four year old begin to SING grace at the top of his lungs.. I think he blessed ALL the food in the restaurant  :) and when he got to the Amen, the other people in the place said "Amen" along with him. He was the "comic" relief for the evening..

The next night he "entertained" the Waffle House and several bikers gave him a "high five". Then there was the pizza place and the Mexican place... But the kid does say grace and that's a good thing. Apparently that's how they do it in the school he's going to.

But Granny is home now and has a great tan (or burn - whatever) but had a great 4th with the grandkids.

But today it's back to work (but some great memories..)  And would you believe... I was having so much fun I FORGOT to take any pictures.. Bad Granny! Oh well... that's what happens when you get OLD and start having fun..  ::)
