Neither :)
Oxygen or injectable sumitriptan work just fine. |

Hottest frigging shower I could stand...mostly a diversion...cold/ice was anathema...

I use both simultaneously - an ice pack in a hot shower or vice versa. Reckon I can confuse the bastage into leaving.
Was in the shower one night during a real shocker, turning the taps from boiling to freezing, and got things slightly wrong. Scalded my scalp and half my hair fell out. Didn't even realise until I saw my pillow in the morning. |

Depends on the day, my head tells me what it wants. Sometimes an ice pack seems quite appropriate, sometimes heating is preferred. I will say that I use ice more often.

I've tried both, but neither has worked so far. I still keep trying though out of pure desperation, but always end up turning to the 02 and sumatriptan.

Ice packs are my best friend during an attack. I would freeze an area till it was numb and move on to the next area. Needs to be soft ice pack so I could really jam it into the eye socket or wrap it around my head.
The main problem is that I generally need to freeze more than one area at a time which is a real juggling act when you can't think straight. Always thought of designing an ice balaclava that covers everything at once. For now I keep 4 ice packs on standby at all times. Also works well in conjunction with red bull for dampening those insidious shadows. Tried a hot shower once during a hit and it sent then pain scale through the roof. Clear choice for me |

Frozen peas are our friends.
