My oldest Grandson (Caleb) had a freak bicycle wreck Saturday afternoon.. Somehow the handlebar of his bike went thru his thigh

The fire dept had to cut off the handlebars and they had to take him to the hospital for surgery to remove the thing. He's home with bandages and a drainage tube now, but hurting really bad.

I talked to him last night and he was crying for Granny so I'm on my way to OK this morning.

Please keep him in your prayers.

And, yes, Granny is a little upset. This is my baby.. He may be 12 and bigger than me, but still my baby.  :-*

Sending best wishes for Caleb to have a quick recovery from his "adventure". Although I'm sure that having his Granny there to fuss over him will do wonders.

Well, I'm back home now.. Got in late last night. Caleb got his tube out yesterday and is on the road to recovery. Been a RUFF week .. Stitches still have another week to set in real good, but doc says he'll be ok.

Granny is recouperating nicely (she thinks - still shaking a little). Another three inches and we'd have lost him... I think the shock is setting in now.. Think Granny needs a good cry. :'(  That always helps when the crisis is over..

But the sad part is it could have been prevented.. IF the damn bike manufacturers would have put a few inches of flexible rubber on the ends of the handlebars.. (There was a little girl in the hospital with the same thing except the handlebar went thru her stomach - same bike - mongoose).

Ok, Granny is on a melt-down now, but Caleb is ok. Thank you all for the prayers..

And I'm back at my "real" computer again.. That laptop just wouldn't work worth a darn and I'm so far behind with work - well.. my next week is already planned -- LOL!
