Title: new here!
Post by bottrell on Jul 15th, 2014 at 8:38pm
Hi everyone, I am so glad I found this...I am at my breaking point :(  I cannot handle this anylonger.  Has anyone had there CH "schedule" change and get much worse?  Is it permanent?  I'm getting them more than once per day and they are lasting hours...I feel like my life is over :'(

You're life isn't over, you found this place!!

There is so much information here to help you.  Personally I use oxygen for hits.  Ask your doctor, demand it from your doctor.  I find that I can abort a 'headache' in about 10 mins!!  Has improved my life no end.  Others here use Batch's D3 regime and find it aborts whole cycles.

Start reading!  See the oxygen info tab to the left, highlighted in yellow?  That is a good start, in my opinion.  You will also find help in the 'Medications' section.

I wish you well, you can do this  :)

Before we can give any useful susggestions it would help us if you would give us:

1. history of the Cluster expeience; how long?; what kind of treatment have you been receiving?; what kind of doc are you seeing (someone with experience in headache?);

2. List of treatments, meds (with dosing; what using now; what tried in the past?)

3. Whee do you live? Ever search for a headache specialist?

There is much experiece to share but some background would help us.

Hi and welcome. You've found somewhere where everyone understands just what you're going through as we either have CH or support someone with it. So you are no longer alone.

One thing about CH is that it seldom stays the same. People experience just about everything that can change doing so at some time, it could be the CH changing sides, what medication worked doesn't or what didn't does, cycle lengths, etc. So a schedule change is unlikely to be permanent.

Tell us more about your CH. Do you have anything to prevent CHs from happening, something like verapamil or lithium? Any method to abort a CH, like oxygen or injectable imitrex?

A combination of a good preventive which can significantly cut how many CHs you get plus good abortives which allow you to kill off CHs in minutes makes a massive difference to how CH impacts you.

Start reading like mad all you can find here and ask all the questions you can think of.

Please do pay attention to the good advice given already-we will be much more able to assist if we know more. But to answer your question directly about change: yes. Of course. Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. Permanent? If you mean will things stay permanently worse for you, we have no way of saying. Some changes last quite a long time. So get back to us! blessings. lance

welcome! big hug! your life is not over, it is just begun now that you found this place, because it has life saving info. read about oxygen that was biggest help, take their advice seriously, everything is important, 100% non-rebreather mask, all those details.

it will help you! took me 3 years to find this place, and none of my docs would listen until i found the info here. then they gave me o2 tanks, and it stops the pain really fast! like only 7 minutes. and i'm only having a tough time right now because i ran out of o2 and other medicine.

so i came back here, and everyone has been so kind, and gave me info about vitamin D and other things i can do to hang in there. so don't worry! we will help you!

you can do it!!!

:)
