Title: RIP Robin Williams
Post by BarbaraD on Aug 13th, 2014 at 10:51am
So sad. Guess we can say this was the day the laughter died. I for one, will miss him.

Sad what depression can do.

One must first suck...in air...use the diaphram....fuck that...one must first find a latex balloon....THEN suck in air...expell that air into the baloon...every proton of that air...then before you...ya have this huge latex condum round as a pigs butt...next ...you grab both sides of that pigs not a very nice person and stretch it thin....then...DEPRESS it...force the air out...it squeals...in the most amazing sounds...thus proving that DEPRESSION is a miraculous thing...or...after having given it a blow job...you can then let it go...it races around the room....up down...yikes it's coming at me!!and everybody laughs...either way...everybody laughs...i think time caught Robin with his weenie hanging out.

It is VERY sad. If you are sad, TELL SOMEBODY. Dont let it fester inside.

Well said, Schmiddy. A timely reminder we should all be ready to seek help, or to offer it.

I didn't like his humour so I'm not a fan, but I do agree that the situation is very sad.
For him, or anyone, to feel that their life is not worth living is heartbreaking. I hope he finds peace now.

One of my favorite comedians, such talent. He will truly be missed, I can't seem to understand what it would take for a person to be so depressed to go there. I'm sorry for those that do.

Ron,

Most of us have been there at one time or another, but we had support and help to pull out of it.

Sometimes it's just being there (and that's what we do here -- we're here for support).

At our first OUCH convention this man walked up to me and told me he came to Vegas to meet me because I was the reason he was alive. Now I didn't even register his name at all (he didn't post much). But apparently I had sent him an email (don't remember that either).

He told me he was in a bad depression and had decided to "end" it when he got my email. But after reading it he was laughing so hard he decided to stick around for a while longer. We've been good friends ever since.. and I still don't remember sending him an email..

The point is.. sometimes it just helps knowing someone cares and is there for you when you need them.

Depression is an awful thing and it goes with a lot of ailments. CH is one of them.. This board has pulled me out of it several times... so I can relate to Robin Williams..

didn't mean to get on my soapbox, but I'm OLD and tend to do that.  :-*

Jonny and i were never big on "support"...We distracted people from the issue...the pain...so few got that...those that did...got a laugh....between moments in Dante's inferno...how ya wanna spen yer time?

Dennis you and Jonny were a lot more support than you give yourself credit for. And both of you hurting all the time.. Sometimes a kick in the rear works better than sympathy (does for me a lot of times) and you guys were there with the boots (and the laughs).. but when push came to shove - you were THERE..

That's what's been so wonderful about this board. We get to know each other and sense what is needed.

Lordy, I remember the first time I ever saw you... In Atlanta.. Jonny yelled at you from the bar.. you jumped over a flower thing and "flew" across the room at Johnny, yelling something uncomplimentary, knocked over a table as you grabbed him. Then ya'll rolled on the floor for a few minutes yelling at each other and came up hugging and laughing. I thought then that you were both NUTZ!  :)  (Some things don't change  ;) )

But this is a great place to be if you have CH... even the "disagreements" have been "fun" over the years and kept a lot of us out of depression.

So my friend, welcome back to the funny farm. Hope you stick around for a long time.  :-*

just saw this...WWE get lots of stew heads to tune in...Jonny and I knew this..unplanned and without conspiracy on our parts...we just kinda built up this battle royal...no smily faces...i have never admitted this...it was a grand publicity stunt...to get folks to focus on ...was it OUCH or CH.com convention???...in reality he could have kicked my ass in a heartbeat...and he did....he picked me up like a rag doll and tossed me around...each of us talkin trash...that was SO much fun...as a comedic actor of 52+ years i found one of my greatest joys to make those who suffer the worlds greatest pain as i did/do...CH...laugh their ass off as they watched us trash out a hotel lobby. it doesn't get much better than that.

I actually met him once and I'll never forget his kind eyes.   He asked me where I was from and when I said Harlem, NY he got up and started singing "Maria" from the West Side Story...this was the look on my face... :-?

LOL

He will definitely be missed.
