Title: OK, I need sympathy..
Post by BarbaraD on Oct 7th, 2014 at 7:38am
Last week while getting ready to come home from my school reunion, I FELL ...(and you know I'm too damn OLD for that)..

Well, I hit my bad knee and bounced into the door and landed on my hip - not a pretty sight. Nothing broke so I got up, got dressed and drove home.

All last week my right leg kept hurting like the devil and locking up on me (I thought I pulled a muscle or something).

Finally yesterday I went to the doctor and had some x-rays.. My doctor (with NO bedside manner) told me I was just too damn old to be falling around and that I had twisted by knee and pulled a muscle in my groin and he didn't have a pill for "patience" and that it was just going to HURT for a while.

He cut me off from driving until my darn leg quits locking up on me and I'm stuck on this hill with nothing but work to keep me busy.

I can't get off the porch (four steps down to the yard and that's entirely very painful to go down those four steps). So ... I'm waiting on some PATIENCE!!

But the good news is.. no cracked bones (that was doc's first thought). But I am learning a LOT of new words..  :)

I did tell my classmate (who's house I fell in) that she needed to get softer floors..  :)

So it looks like for the next couple of weeks I'll be limping around, not driving and shouting a lot of bad words. Now do I get some sympathy? ::)

Other than that the reunion was great..  :-*

Oh Barbara, so sorry you've had a fall. I hope you recover quickly so life can get back to normal. Keep practicing those words - they come in handy for all sorts of things.
Maz.

Ouch Barbara, you're not supposed to fall over like that (in case you didn't know).

As to "those words", well I remember reading a few years ago that they do actually help reduce pain levels and this has been confirmed through published scientific research. Hope that things get sorted out soon and you're back to doing all the usual stuff you get up to.

I never get invited to parties like that.
