Hi hobo,
Cafergot "Ergotamine" Has been taken off the shelves in most developed countries around the world, including here in Australia. I believe, but not a 100% sure same applies in the US. Hoppy. |

I got cafergot from a friend in CA, but haven't had trouble getting DH45. But haven't ordered it lately. Sorry about this...
Call around to different pharmacies and see if they have it or can get it. sometimes the pharmacies in the hospitals are your best bet. It's worth a try. Hope you find your meds soon. :-* |

I wonder how up to date your doctor is since they are prescribing old style medication for CH.
Ask them how much experience they have of treating CH and consider changing to a headache specialist with up to date skills and experience. |

Mike,
Cafergot and DHE45 may be "old fashion" meds, but ... I always liked cafergot better than imitrex and think it works for a longer period of time than the trex. At least for me it did. The cafergot didn't give me the side effects that the trex did. And the DHE45, I kept (keep) for emergencies when I just couldn't break a bad cycle. I still keep it for bad migraines. But that goes back to the same thing that what works for one doesn't necessarily work for the next one. But Hoppy, Please check out the D3 regimen. It's working great on so many of US. Yesterday was a whole year for me without a CH. Wishing you PF days.. :-* |

Hi Barbara,
I was on Migral for 36yrs, and found it to be effective most of the time, as long as I caught it in time, then when it was taken off the shelves here in oz my GP put me on Imigran tabs, again found them ok as long as I caught the beast in time. Now I'm on the vitamin D3 regime, I've been CH free for the past 22mths, and I was pleased to read you are also pain free since being on the regiment :) Best Hoppy. |
