Son and grandson showed up Friday night to go hunting for winter meat.

Hunted all day Saturday with nothing to show until almost dark and then Granny heard a shot ring out. about an hour later they comes back to the house with an 8 point buck.. Nice big one. So at least the Hendersons will EAT this winter.

Boys spent half the night in the barn dressing the deer out to take back to OK with them. Granny told them they could leave the backstrap for her.. don't think there's a chance of that, but one can try.. :)

That's a success story. Been quite some time that I have hunted. Used to go during bow season. I recall dressing them and how much work that was. I'm with you nothing like the backstrap.
I was worried that setting the clocks back would only mean I would get up earlier than the 3 am I have been getting up, but seems I had some of the luck you wished and actually stayed in bed until 4:30 WOW. Thanks, and enjoy your LONG weekend too  :D 

here I was thinking I still got 2 doe permits and I can use my crossbow till next week then BAM my ch decides to show up :'( now I just want to take the truck and SLAM one ;D
