Title: What's the funniest thing... Post by Linda_Howell on Nov 17th, 2014 at 10:10am
that ever happened to you during a CH attack? Over the years here many people have had experiences that in hind-sight, caused everyone to laugh. The one below is from a guy named Drummer.

Now, what's yours? |

Here's another one from a different author. lol
Why my WINKY ?? ?? - Updated « on: Jun 23rd, 2005, 1:08pm » Quote Quote Modify Modify Ok, I know this is a caring and compassionate group, and we can relate things without any snide, or uncalled for remarks. RIGHT ?? ?? I know Drummer posted of his, somewhat similar, unfortunate experience, a long time ago. He spoke of needing a safety kit, to protect himself. He may be right. As you all know, I get hit fairly often. Many times, if I am downstairs in the living room, and there are visitors here, when I get hit, I grab my oxygen mask and then run into the half bath with it, so I can be in privacy. Many times I sit on the throne and bounce and rock around. In doing this, I cracked and broke the toilet seat, in the front, so that there is a split, and with pressure, it opens up. I have been meaning to replace that seat. I AM GOING TO DO THAT TODAY !! !! !! WELL, let me relate what happened today. A co-worker stopped by to see how I am doing, as I have missed so much work, of late. I just had on a pair of gym shorts, as I had not gotten dressed yet. Naturally, the beast made a call. I turned on the oxygen, grabbed my mask and made a bee line for the bathroom. While in there, I felt I had another bodily function to do, so I dropped my drawers and sat down. I did what I had to do, but continued to sit there, rocking, while dealing with the beast. While rocking, I slid forward on the seat, the gap opened up, and YUP, my dangling “best part” got into that gap, and when I rocked, it pinched it, HARD !! !! !! Well, I jumped up, screaming, and when I lifted my weight off the seat, the gap closed completely, with a VERY important part of me still in it! When I jumped up, and the gap closed, the seat proceeded to rip a hunk of skin on my poor ole winky. I started to jump around holding my injured part, and proceeded to trip on my shorts, that were at my ankles. That caused me to fall into the door, causing it to fly open, smashing my nose, and falling out into the kitchen. So there I am, rolling, naked, on the floor, screaming, with one hand on my groin, covered in blood, the other hand on my nose, also covered in blood, with my co-worker staring in absolute horror at me, trying VERY hard not to laugh, not knowing what to do, as he has been warned, DO NOT GO NEAR ME, OR TOUCH ME when I am getting hit !! !! !! I think my winky is out of commission for a while ... Like it makes a difference ... The good thing is, during this process, the beast left. The problem is, do I think I could repeat this procedure several times a day, to kill a hit? Hmm mm mm ... I am not sure I want to try it again. Where is that safety kit? Chuck PS: I KNOW not one of you are going to laugh at me, ARE YOU !! ?? !! ?? EDITED to give credit to Drummer, not Hub. Thanks. Linda! |

That is some funny shit ................mine will pale in comparison and is not related to my CH just chalk it up to one of those "things"
My wife an I have an underground pool with a privacy fence. this is important because : while I never had a problem with chlorine as a child or young adult, it seems I now have trouble tolerating its caustic nature. Meaning "Mr Winky" aka "my junk" tends to get burned and badly. therefore, by not wearing shorts I can dry off after getting out and put my shorts on and that helps. while we had visitors so I had to be a good bot and wear the shorts, this exposed my junk to the chlorine and DAMN I wouldnt say it is as bad as CH but when your johnson is on fire a few tears are shed. my wife, always my greatest support had gotten me a tube to soothe this pain and having been in a hurry one time, I grabbed the wrong tube and applied toothpaste to this already flaming area and this just added to the pain. All I could think of while on fire and in tears, is : this would be a great time if my wife needed to brush her teeth ;D. she will surely shake her head in disgust that I shared this but what the hell, we're all human and capable of mistakes even painful ones |

I knew it had been a bad one, but once normality was restored I was delighted to find I'd done a full cut and polish on my 4WD.

Thanks for the laugh Linda.. I miss Drummer and his antics.. He could make us laugh even in the most dark moments.. :)
When the fateful 5 met at his house back in 99 and Judy quit breathing on us and had to go to the ER.... of course we all ended up going with her. Got to the ER doc and Drummer calmly asked him (with Judy laying on the stretcher) "How much do you know about Cluster Headaches?" The conversation promptly began on clusters until Judy (very loudly) reminded the doc that SHE was the patient. But Drummer was one of a kind.. thanks for the memories.. :-* And Don, think about that "safety kit".. ;) |

Mine can't compare to Drummer or Chucks stories, but:
Jim and I were at an Applebee's restaurant on a Saturday night. Place was packed. Just after we ordered, I start to get hit, and instead of going out to the car, I rush to the ladies room. BIG MISTAKE. I'm a headbanger and I'm moaning, etc. Someone outside the stall asks me if I'm o.k. and I say through clenched teeth..I'll be fine in a while. (turns out she was a waitress) She has called the police and by the time I'm o.k. enough to walk back to the table, there stands the biggest, tallest cop I've ever seen. Jim explains everything to him, but by this time the entire restaurant is staring at me, including the cooks who came out of the kitchen. I never did get dinner and I couldn't get out of the place fast enough. |

:) :) Well at least Jim didn't have to "carry" you off the dance floor back to the hotel.. :) :).. Now THAT was a Kodak moment..
For those of you who don't know THAT story... Atlanta 2001.. OUCH convention. Everyone was at a club, dancing and having a great time when Linda got hit (badly). Jonny picked her up bodily and carried her back to the hotel to get to her meds. And, of course, NOBODY laughed about it.. (well.. maybe that's not exactly the truth.. ;D ;D). And I think that was just the first night of THAT convention.. :) |

Can't think of any funny story related to a ch hit....but do recall several times catching a glimpse of myself in a mirror during a hit.....and I hope my cluster brothers and sisters can relate....a couple of times it was HILARIOUS.
Snot everywhere...what little hair I have sticking out like Buckweat....clothes askew.....fists balled...Popeye squint/wink.....either real good horror movie makeup or one helluva party aftermath..... It IS possible to laugh and cry at the same time.....with EQUAL sincerity...I been there...... Best Jon PS Hiya Jer' [smiley=hiya.gif] |

Linda, you shared two of my all-time favorites! i laugh at those on a regular basis without even having to read them again. I've read them that many times. Elaine was a good one for telling funny tales about getting hit, and I miss seeing her on the board.
I don't have any funnies to tell from my experiences, but I can definitely agree with Jon about looking in the mirror. Scary sight! jc Hi,ya, Jon! |

I apparently looked pretty scary at work on Thursday with just a bad migraine, so no idea what they'd think if they saw me with a Kip 10 CH. Luckily D3 seems to make them a distant memory. |

Of course there's always been Jayne's story about her 'big man in the drawer'.
Never understood a word of it meself, but others found it strangely amusing. |
Title: Re: What's the funniest thing... Post by Linda_Howell on Nov 23rd, 2014 at 5:33pm
Yeah...Elaine and Margi were good for a laugh, that's for sure, and Jayne Salters could make you spit out whatever you were sipping on at the time. Jayne has a boyfriend now, so I know that asking her to re-run some of her...um, adventures would probably not do.
Another story I can laugh about NOW, is: My front door opened onto my kitchen. I was alone and it was night-time so I had lights on. I get hit and it was bad I opened up my freezer door and was there breathing hard into the freezer when a UPS came to the door delivering a package. He took one look at me, dropped the package and ran to his truck like he'd walked into a really bad place. Never even asked me to sign for it. Wonder what he told his wife that night when he got home. ;D |
