I am Charlie.

It's a magazine in Paris who published a cartoon of the prophet mohammed. Two islami fanatics stormed into their offices and shot 12 people, then went on the run through france. They have been hunted down and were killed by police yesterday. At the same time, another fanatic took hostages in a jewish supermarket and claimed he would not let them go till the other 2 were allowed to go free, so the two crimes were connected. I believe one hostage died before the police stormed the supermarket and shot this terrorist too. His girlfriend who was also involved is still on the run.
It's been huge news here in europe for several days now.There have been rallies and marches and debates in european governments regarding freedom of speech etc.
It's just terrible.

Stands for the shake down on the base of any democratic society,

I think, therefore I am

The fundamentals of modern democracy and free society were defined in France.
Last week in France, it was trampled over by misguided individuals
( I do try to stay away from more radical terms) murdering in the name of God (Allah),
murdering journalists and other individuals, that have dared to think differently than these misguided, so called Muslims.

This attack, is, as was the attack on 9.11 a turning point.

It is in no way!!  a comparison to the murderous and vicious attack on 911!

But, as 911 was a turning point for the American (USA) society,
so is this murderous attack!  a turning point for all Europe,
and the rest of the FREE world, the fundamental right of free society –
the right to an opinion – freedom of expression! Are being trampled!
Our world (innocent) is being attacked by misguided (few) individuals,
that would like to impose fundamental religious (Muslim sharia laws),
defying human rights and freedom, and all that is so cherished by most of us,
the right for self-expression without fear.

This is why I stand proudly today (and every day) and say,

je suis charlie - I am charlie  –  I think therefore I am

And NO to the misguided individuals, trying to loot my freedom, my rights, my dignity, my life.
