Title: Hi, y'all, I'm back!
Post by JoJo C. on Feb 21st, 2015 at 12:46pm
:(  I've been HA free for about 6 years,  but woke  up with one last night.  Been so long since I've been on the board I forgot my UN and Password.  Been an off and on member for years...  Hate to say I'm back, but at least y'all are still here.  I was hoping I'd see just one post with the cure. LOL.

Well, Hoppy, I'm doing the acid test right now.  For the past 6 years, I've had 4-5 drinks a night with no problem.  I'm on my first tonight.  If anything is going to trigger one, this should.  I'm going on 65, and I thought maybe they'd gone back to he** for good, where they belong.  We'll see...   :-/

JoJo, When out of a cycle I could drink like a fish, but when
in a cycle, one sip of alcohol and I was a gonna. Hoping
this was a one off visit from the  [smiley=evil.gif]for you.

Hoppy.

Well, as Hoyt on the John-boy and Billy show says when asked about how things went, "not to good"...  Looks like I'm off and running...   :-[

Hi JoJo,
Sorry to read the beast of burden is back with you, but
that's the amazing thing with CH's! When you start to
think the beast has gone forever, after many years of
remission, he rears his ugly head. Like I said before
their is no cure as yet, but their is the next best thing
that's working for 60% of us clusterheads on here, and
that's the vitamin D regiment, you can find all the
info on here, or shoot Batch a PM and he'll guide you
through it.

Cheers, Hoppy.

Well, I abstained from imbibing last night, and I prayed that He would give me a HA free night.  I woke up this morning, after a full nights sleep!  That has never happened before.  Always, once they began, they only increased quickly.   :D  I will remain a teetotaller for a while, but I give Him all the Glory for a PF night!!!

Good thinking, the last thing you want to do is tempt
fate, and wake up the  [smiley=evil.gif]

sorry you're back, but you should check in periodically.. (even out of cycle).  A lot HAS happened in 6 years.

The D3 regimen is working for a lot of us. Check Batch's post for that one. I swear by it (after years and years of being chronic I've been PF since Oct of 2013 and loving it).

Some improvements in O2 also.. Check the O2 info on the left.

And of course for most alcohol is a BIG trigger.

Hope this one is a short one, but check in occasionally.. No cure yet, but you never know when one might come along.. (she said hopefully)..  :-*

Thanks, BarbaraD...  Went out today and got a Millennium M10 Oxygen Concentrator.  Have been getting only 4 hours sleep a night last few days... Go to sleep, an hour later, the beast returns...  Took going to 2 Docs to get a Rx for O2...  :(

How do you get on with a concentrator? Most people find they don't do too well as they don't put out pure oxygen, but it can work for some.

Have you read the oxygen page - START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE ?

Yeah, Mike, I read it last evening and thought "crap"...  It cost $200 a month to rent.  However, When I was using a bottle I only used it at 7lpm, and this machine says it's 94% at 7, so I set it on 7, and it worked all 3 times last night within 10-15 minutes!  As long as it keeps working, I'll keep it.  If it stops, I'll take it back and get a bottle...

Great that it is working for you.

Does it go higher than 7? Quite a few people have found that higher flow rates result in quicker abort times.

It goes up to 10, but with my COPD I try to keep it as low as possible while still getting results.  The tag on the Machine says at 7 it's 94%, but only 92% at 10...  So, I think I'm getting more O2 at 7 than I would at 10...  BTW, I think New Zealand is seriously cool!!!   8-)

With COPD you are best working with your doctors.

As for the rates:
  • 94% oxygen at 7lpm flow = 6.58lpm of oxygen
  • 92% oxygen at 10lpm flow = 9.2lpm of oxygen

So the higher flow rate will give you almost 40% more oxygen.

And I agree with you about NZ, which is why I love living here.

Mike, you're obviously more adapt at math than I...  LOL!  However, one thing I've learned in dealing with the beast and Physicians of every stripe in 40 plus years is that they have been no help.  As long as the 7lpm out of this machine run the beast back to hell, I'll keep using it.   ;)

Keeping the beast at bay is all that counts. Long may it keep working for you.
