Looks like it is missing Cairns but still it will make landfall to the north. Hope it hits areas well away from people.

There is an amazing website where you can see the current wind patterns over the globe.

You can see cyclone Nathan just off the Queensland coast plus the remains of cyclone Pam to the SE of New Zealand. Plus it'll show the rest of the world too.

Thanks fellas. That's twice in a week we've dodged the same bullet. Fair dinkum it's weaving around like other people when they leave the pub.

Current advice shows it hitting about Cape Flattery at dawn. The few people around that district have plenty of practice with big blows and this one is currently a Cat 4, which is a Kip 9 anytime.

Just to the north is the aboriginal community of Lockart River where DennyM and I have worked a few times. Beautiful country, wonderful people.

Needless to say we are fully set up for cyclones as we must always care for some neighbours who can't properly care for themselves. Our constant fear is a storm surge which means the Cowboy downstairs will have to shelter upstairs with us He's a really a really nice bloke, but.....

If our dear old Cyclone Nathan follows the usual cycle it will cross the coast and immediately start to break down, keep just enough energy to cross the cape into the Gulf, then grow back into a monster to spoil someone else's day. We live in Paradise here in the tropical north but this a little cross we must bear.

Happy days to all, stay safe, and there's always a way to keep the beer cold,

DennyM and Brian who always obeys.
