I'm with ya, Hoppy. Night time here plummeting to 22C, a shivering 72f in the old money. Drinking chilled beer outside with the mates last midnight and had to put a shirt on!

Still three weeks before winter so I don't know how we're gunna cope.

Brian & Maz,
It's warmed up little bit, 20c 66F, blue sky and sunshine,
but I'm bloody freezing to death, all wrapped up like a
dogs dinner and no where too go  [smiley=lolk.gif]. Us
Aussies must be a bunch of chilly mortans  [smiley=lolk.gif]

Brian, I just read a tsunami warning that could be
heading your way, stay safe.

You poor souls.  72f is a decent summer day for us.
Brian, you could always do what us poms are accused of - drink warm beer.  [smiley=beer.gif]
Let me know if it gets too bad and I'll send you both some of  the degrees that MikeNZ sent me last year.

Hey Maz, I used to like warm beer, especially at this time of
the year.   [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=lolk.gif]

Cheers Hoppy.

Well next time you come over here I will be sure to warm some up for you. How would be best - a jug in the microwave or should I just throw a can on the barbie.

Well, here in Texas we're cooling the beer off... It's in the high 80s and 90s F most days and we're putting our winter coats away for the summer.  :-*

Maz, I  [smiley=lolk.gif] I would prefer a couple of tinnies
straight from the fridge  [smiley=beer.gif].
Barbara, If you can spare a couple of degrees, your quite
welcome to send them this way, its only 36F outside at the
moment.

Come on Hoppy    "harden up mate"
you could always move over here to Melbourne and experience 4 different seasons a day   LOL
Still picking up the odd snapper of good size here, waiting for the depths of winter to hunt those illusive big winter reds !!!!!!!!
cheers
colin
And Maz,  as for your warm beer !!!!
once beer reaches room temperature, it must be thrown out !      LOL

Hi Colin,
Their were a few anglers chasing Snapper on Monday
after the rain and cold blow during the early hours of
Monday morning, but some one should have told them
It's a bit early yet for the Snapper to come on the bite.

Hmm, it all depends on the beer. Just like wine there is an optimum temperature for the best flavour to come out.

However from experience in places like Cairns (Thanks Brian) cold and wet is all that counts at times.

You're welcome, Mike, and ice-cold beer all year is just of the natural wonders of this tropical paradise I inhabit.

Equally it can go the other way and thanks to a paperwork upstuff four of us once spent six days stuck in the desert west o' Bourke expecting to die.

This was during a national beer strike and  when the chopper finally remembered to come back we saw the loadie had a six-pack of Australia's worst beer on a tie-down near the door.

White Death, it's commonly called, and this stuff was hot as hell and shook up into the bargain but it never slowed us down for a second. A can apiece, we were fighting over the other two, and all the world was a sweeter, nicer place.

I'm sure warm beer is fine at times but I'll stick to the cold stuff, thanks. If only to stifle certain memories.
