Hi you are at the right place for the most credible information. You are at the right place for the best support you can find. Like someone told me ... read , read and read everything you can find on this site. And if you have questions , there will always be someone to answer. I am new myself for about ten days now and all i can say is i have my cluster headaches alot more controled and so happy , just had my first 24 hres period with zero pain. But i followed every tips that were suggested by the sufferers of many years. Please especially try the vit D 3 regimen. Welcome to you!

Hi Tito and welcome,
It's always wise to see a Headache Specialist and get a proper diagnosis, as their are many headache types that mimic CH's, also other nasties that could be lurking. In the meantime take the cluster quiz! It could answer some of your concerns. The link is to your left on this page. Cheers, Hoppy. |

Hi Tito and another welcome to you.
I totally agree with Hoppy that you need to progress from thinking you have CH to getting a definitive diagnosis about what headache type you have. This will enable you to get the appropriate treatment that will work for you. There is just about always someone online since we're spread all over the world, just post and people will reply to answer questions and more. And read up, you'll learn a lot here. |

Hi Tito
As the others have said, you really must get a proper diagnosis. The pain you feel could be because of any number of reasons, all of which respond differently to different meds. You should also get a scan to rule out anything more sinister. There is plenty that will help enormously, but you need to know what you have before you can find out what to treat it with. Let us know how you get along - we are here 24/7. Maz. |

Hi Tito,
I agree with everyone else comments. It took doctors 3 years to diagnose my CH. Part of the problem was that by the time I got to see a specialist, the cluster was over. Also, I was misdiagnosed as suffering from Paroxysmal Hemicrania....which has some similarity with CH. BOttom line, you need a good diagnosis, proferably from a Neurologist or Neuro Surgeon. |

Yep what the others said about getting a proper diagnosis. You mike take the Cluster quiz over on the left side of this board.
Then READ READ READ... and when you go to see the neurologist - go prepared with FACTS about your symptoms. Keep a headache journal. And by all means ASK questions here.. We're here to help and nothing you can ask is silly - we've ALL asked questions that some people would think were "stupid" but if ya don't know the answer NOTHING is a stupid question. And DO NOT get your feelings hurt if someone makes a wise crack.. it's the way we cope with things. Some of us have hurt so bad for so long that making jokes is how we survive. Just don't take anything personal. I've been on this board since 98 and I've seen too many people take things personal and leave before they got help.. If someone says something you don't like just PM me and I'll kiss it and make it all better :) My point is we're here to HELP.. So pull up a chair and read, ask questions and get to know us. We're pretty good people (most of us anyhow ;)) :-* |

What they all said! The quiz and cluster traits are excellent tools, but they are not definitive enough to not get an MRI with contrast and a CT scan to rule out tumor, aneurysm, or a host of other things. Only recently, a gentleman in the UK who had been diagnosed with CH for over three years. Because he was intractable to all treatments, they finally gave him an MRI, and found a pituitary tumor that extended into his sinus. With proper treatment for his tumor, his CH went away. Demand proper testing from a specialist.
