Haven't had a cold or the flu since I started on the Vit D3 regimen. Won't take a flu shot, and can't since I've had the Guillain-Barre syndrome already, and it is no fun. I've been out of work now since Jan 9 2013 from it, and have no prospects of ever returning to work. I don't recommend the flu shot, period.

I'm 62 years old and I don't think that I have ever had the flu. Maybe I don't undestand what it is.
My first flu shot was three years ago when I planned to travel to see my 1 lb. micro-preemie grandson - they insisted - I would NOT get in without proof. Probably just my archaic attitude, but I have difficulty seeing real value in stuff like this. Sometimes I kind of feel like that about antibiotics. Last time I took one was 1989 and I'm not convinced I needed it then. Yes, I have seen it save lives - but....... Meds for CH's are another matter entirely!! |

My wife works in disabilities, all the staff are offered free flu shots annually. Its funny though, even with the shot, she still ended up getting a bad dose of it at some stage through the year, as well as most of the staff there. She decided to not have the shot this year and to date she hasn't been hit with the flu ! she has been on the vit d3 through out this year..

The ingredients of the flu shot change every year depending of the kind of flu virus they want to protect you from. It does not cover all the different kind of flues , so yes you can get the flu even with the vaccine because it does not cover every kind of flu out there. As a ex nurse, i am on long term disability for chronic pain, i have had the flu vaccine almost every year, the year of the H1N1 i did not take it. Got H1N1 would not wish that on my worst enemies . I think it is a personal choice and the choice depends on your health or lack of health,, especially people with respiratory problems.

I'm on Vit D and still take the flu shot .. the one year I didn't take it, got a case of it that turned into pneumonia and ended up in the hospital.
So I figure better safe than sorry. Last year I didn't get anything to write home about. Unless, of course, you count CLUMSY! And they don't have a shot for that.. :) Wishing everyone a flu-free season.. :-* |

I've been getting the flu shot over the past few years, no flu, then I missed getting it done in 2014, and copped a bad dose whilst on vacation in Europe, had to go to the doctor to get some Antibiotics, had a flu shot this year 2015, and no flu. Go figure.
