I am episodic for about 14 years.  In cycle now and not horrific, but taking 360mg of verapamil.  Attacks really strange this cycle, get about 1 every two days, none worse than a 7.  Lots of shadows in between.  My last cycle was about 2years ago and a complete nightmare.

Question for anyone that could help, would Cialis be a really bad idea?  A small dose.      :-/ 

Presuming your partner is amenable, I imagine the Cialis would do wonders in taking your mind off some pesky little headache.

Please let us know how you get on with it, but there's no need for pictures.

I was taking daily Cialis for about two weeks and just stopped a few days ago.  It did not trigger a cluster, which was my fear but it did make me feel like crap.  It lowered my blood pressure and I had to quit it.  This is the same reason I had to stop taking verapamil.  so If you're already taking verapamil keep an eye on your BP with the Cialis.

I must say though:  the Cialis did work as advertised and kept me at attention so if you don't have the same low BP problems as me, I recommend it.

Nothin like gettin advice from an expert.  Cialis is a Vasodilator for crissakes and that's the last thing a ch sufferer needs.  Pesky little headache my dyin ass.

Given your long intervals between cycles you might consider a trial of this one. It aborts rapidy, inexpensive on a per dose basdis, no side effects (in my experience).
Might be possible to not have to use a prevetive with the delay before it becomes effective.

After my first use it became m one and only med.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate olanzapine as a cluster headache abortive agent in an open-label trial. BACKGROUND: Cluster headache is the most painful headache syndrome known. There are very few recognized abortive therapies for cluster headache and fewer for patients who have contraindications to vasoconstrictive drugs. METHODS: Olanzapine was given as an abortive agent to five patients with cluster headache in an open-label trial. THE INITIAL OLANZAPINE DOSE WAS 5 MG, AND THE DOSE WAS INCREASED TO 10 MG IF THERE WAS NO PAIN RELIEF. THE DOSAGE WAS DECREASED TO 2.5 MG IF THE 5-MG DOSE WAS EFFECTIVE BUT CAUSED ADVERSE EFFECTS. To be included in the study, each patient had to treat at least two attacks with either an effective dose or the highest tolerated dose. RESULTS: Five patients completed the investigation (four men, one woman; four with chronic cluster, one with episodic cluster). Olanzapine reduced cluster pain by at least 80% in four of five patients, and TWO PATIENTS BECAME HEADACHE-FREE AFTER TAKING THE DRUG. Olanzapine typically alleviated pain within 20 minutes after oral dosing and treatment response was consistent across multiple treated attacks. The only adverse event was sleepiness. CONCLUSIONS: Olanzapine appears to be a good abortive agent for cluster headache. IT ALLEVIATES PAIN QUICKLY AND HAS A CONSISTENT RESPONSE ACROSS MULTIPLE TREATED ATTACKS. IT APPEARS TO WORK IN BOTH EPISODIC AND CHRONIC CLUSTER HEADACHE.

Olanzapine has a brand name of "Zyprexa" and is a antipsychotic. Don't be put off by this primary usage. Several of the drugs used to treat CH are cross over applications, that is, drugs approved by the FDA for one purpose which are found to be effective with unrelated conditions--BJ.

Hey Bobbyd,
A few years ago, i tried cialis, also tried viagra, for extra long fun time with GF.
While they worked a treat down there, a couple of times they brought on the most severe CH i ever experienced. That was when i would be taking them at around the time when a cycle would start.
So I never take them now,
Yes they are a bad idea as like Potter says they are Vasodilator.
Thanks to Batch's D3 regimen I am now PF but i still wouldn't take the risk of taking cialis or viagra again.
