My son called last night and I've been shaking ever since.

Seems he and my youngest grandson (6 year old with autism) were shopping and Chase (the grandson) had a call of nature. Buddy (son) took him to the bathroom and Chase did his business and Buddy was "helping" his get redressed (did I mention that Chase MUST take his pants off to pee - one of his little things with the autism).

While Buddy is squatted down on the floor in front of Chase helping him, a Muslim man walks up behind him and starts yelling at him. Buddy gets up and asks him what the hell is going on and the man keeps on yelling (upsetting Chase who doesn't understand yelling and gets visably upset when he hears it).

One thing and  another.. Buddy had a screwdriver in his pocket (from work - don't know why) but he pulled it out and told the idiot to get out of his face and out of the bathroom or he was going to hurt him. The guy left yelling..

But Buddy told me, "Mom, I almost put that screwdriver thru his throat because I didn't know what he was saying and I was scared that he was going to hurt Chase or me. That scares me. I've never thought about actually killing anyone before."

Now I don't know which side of the fence you're on and don't really care - THIS was MY family that was affected and right now I don't have an once of Christian Chairty toward Muslims who do this.

I have NO doubt had that been me, I would have put that screwdriver thru his BALLS (I'm too short to reach most men's throats) and not made a martyr of him. But if I thought for a minute my grandchild was threatened -

So after two hours on the phone and finally calming Buddy down somewhat.. I started shaking and today I'm just plain angry.

My 14 year old tells me he had to take a class in his PUBLIC school on ISLAM yet he can't say a prayer there.

What the hell has our country come to and when are we as Americans going to put a stop to it?

I've been talking, but when it hits my family - that's different.. now I'm SEEING what's happening.

Now Chase doesn't want to go out of the house because "bad man" might get him. He doesn't want to go to school, won't say more than one or two words.

And then on a funny not. When Buddy got home his company called and asked if he was going to attend the "Holiday Party in Oklahoma City on Tuesday." He said he just looked at the phone a minute and then said, "Not NO but HELL NO... I'm not going to a gun free government building to a HOLIDAY PARTY after just being accosted by a damn Muslim a hour ago. And I don't do HOLIDAY.. I do Christmas!"

So agree or disagree with me.. I really don't care.. I just needed to blow up.. Thanks for listeneing.  :-*

Barbara, It's exactly the same here. But our government is instrumental in allowing it to happen. Whilst muslim clerics are preaching hatred in the streets of london our local shops have been told to take down their christmas angels from window displays in case it offends non christians. People have been told not to fly the flag of St. George even though this is the English flag (just part of the union flag).
The Indian population celebrates Diwali in the streets but our children are not allowed to sing carols in the shopping mall. And many of our kindergarden children are not allowed to put on a nativity play at christmas.

It seems our laws are only for us natives. Our young people are not allowed into stores wearing a hoodie or a crash helmet because they have to be identifiable, but muslim women walk around the supermarkets wearing burkhas and buying halal meat.
Apparently, the supermarkets find it too expensive to use an ordinary butcher as well as a halal butcher (which they now have to by law), so only halal butchers are used to slaughter animals.  If I want to eat meat I'm given no choice. And one of our fast food chains in the london area is refusing to sell bacon.

I have to say at this point, I have multicultural friends of all faiths, including a muslim who married into my family, and not one of them is actually offended by christianity any more than I am to Islam. But what does offend me is being repressed, and the government trying to turn us into them.

We are currently reconstructing our garden, and when it's done I will get the tallest flagpole I can find and fly St Georges flag as high as I can. And I DARE the local authority guy to come around and tell me take it down. He'll wish he'd never been born.
I can imagine what Americans would say if they were told not to fly their flag !!!!

You know Maz, not many people on this board are as old as me, but I remember a time (when I was a wee one) back in the late 40s and early 50s when this country was in a total scare mode.. The COLD WAR...

Everyone was spending money to build BOMB SHELTERS because we didn't know when/if the Russians were going to drop the BIG one on us and we were going to be prepared. We had guys in white hard hats running around our neighborhoods "preparing" us for the "worst" and at school we had bomb drills. But we were prepared for the worst and it never happened.

Today we're NOT prepared for what IS happening and that scares the devil out of me - not for me, but for my grandkids.

I've too got friends of all races, breeds, colors and have never been accused of being a racist.. I say what I've got to say and we can argue all day long (we don't have to agree all the time) and after we quit yelling, I'm gonna tell you I love you and we'll go have a drink and stay friends. But I'm sure as hell not going to cut your head off because you don't go to the same church as I do or believe the same things I do.

We say we want "democracy" for the world (which ain't gonna ever happen) yet we don't have it at home. Guess that's what really disgusts me the most.

But at least right now I can still say what I think. And everyone is still free to disagree with me. :-*

Since he didn't call the Police I find that doubtful. One can reasonably assume that if he felt a child was being molested by a screw driver wielding maniac he would have rushed to summon the authorities as most concerned citizens would.

Hoppy, son didn't pull the screwdriver out UNTIL after the guy wouldn't get out of his face and IF he thought the child was being molested he should have called someone, but you don't walk up behind someone and start yelling..

But yesterday I HAD to go to Wal-mart and I did notice something.. at this time of year the store is usually VERY crowded - it wasn't yesterday.. The shelves were FULL (unusual for this time of year). The parking lot was only about half full and I had NO problem finding a parking place (something else usual).

And I got in and got out as quickly as I could - didn't even look around (except  at the others in the store). And I'm not paranoid (or never have been).

About the only place I feel really safe right now is at church - reason  - the Sheriff and most of his deputies are members (Preacher is the adult probation officer at the Sheriff's dept.) and they all come to church "carrying". About the safest place in our county on Sunday morning.  :)

And YES, I believe in my constitutional Second Amendment rights and have an assortment of GUNS in my house and most of them are loaded and I DO know how to shoot them. If my family were threatened I have NO DOUBT what I'd do.

And feeling this way, I can NOT fault my son, when thinking HIS son was threatened, for trying to protect him.

I'll stand up for your right to your opinion, but that's mine.

I understand having guns at home for those feral pigs, farmers here, also have guns on their property, but the general population have no need to carry guns when their out and about! Because it's perfectly safe here, and you don't have to keep looking over your shoulder. You say your not paranoid, but I would be, if I lived where you live. [smiley=worried.gif]

It hasn't been established he that he couldn't speak english, only that Barb's son couldn't understand his yelling. That could be caused by many reasons other that the person in question being unable to speak english.

I am very happy that I moved to where I am allowed to defend myself and family if ever required.

Regardless of weapons chosen, from fists to knives to a hammer or even a California screwdriver  ;) I am not forced to become a victim in the off chance that I am attacked by a crook or another type of dangerous animal.

Seems to be strange concept to some people, but I also have a fire extinguisher just in case there is a fire.

Our world is changing rapidly..............

Is Georgia in Amsterdam or Conroe? Because Amsterdam is also in New York and Texas - along with Georgia. But Amsterdam isn't likely to be in Georgia, nor is New York - but Georgia is probably in New York. I am left wondering if Georgia is merely a state of mind.
