Title: Interesting Outcome Post by RogerH on Dec 18th, 2015 at 7:03am
Hi, I've suffered with CH for 4 yrs. now, usually around September / October time for about two weeks, 5 hours a day.....and what long days they seemed! starting around 11 in the morning and finishing about 3 pm and within minutes it's as if nothing has happened!
However, this year they started later, about 5pm. The symptoms were the same but at least it was in the evening so I could just go to bed - day two though I was previously booked in for a blood donation at 6.30. The initial throb had started but I thought I would go anyway as it wasn't yet severe - did the donation and by 7.30 was home and feeling fine........no symptoms since!! Happy days! may be worth a go for other perhaps!? |

Sounds more like migraine to me. With a Cluster headache you don't go to bed, no way. In fact it forces you out of bed immediately, you go back to bed only when it's gone. 0% chance of laying in bed and fighting it off or just taking the pain. Also, you don't go out into public when a attack starts, you isolate yourself to battle it one-on-one.
A 4-5 hour attack would be life threatening! I'm by no means a expert tho - you should see a professional. |

Roger,
I donated blood every 3 months without fail for 30 years and then donated Platelets every 4 weeks for a further 3 years and it never had any effect whatsoever on my CH. Peter. |

Best check in with a headache Specialist! The way you describe your headaches are not CH's.

What Helliknowpain and Hoppy said. I firmly believe you have a bad diagnosis, which is good for you! Find a qualified HA specialist and be checked again. Good luck!

I am skeptical about this being used as a treatment for CH's, but I'm sure that some members will be along soon to congratulate you on your discovery.
I am not qualified to diagnose your condition. Marc |

G'day Rog, and welcome. All headaches are horrible but it's really important you find out for sure just which type you're battling with. Reason being you could be using useless medications and treatments while another condition is going untreated and really spoiling your life.
Give us an idea how things are for you and perhaps we can offer some advice or a way of finding some relief. |
