Title: Just Diagnosed
Post by DenverMark on Jun 14th, 2008 at 10:51pm
Hello everyone my name is mark - just turned 50 years old. was just diagnosed with cluster headaches, was just sure it was a brain tumor but dr. said it wasn't so now I'm trying to figure out what comes next. Seems like the last month has been a complete disaster, or worse. Not knowing if I was going to live or die, and sometimes wishing I would die. I received a massave amount if dialata (sp) in the hospital ER - and when my family was driving my home 45 mins later my pain shot back up to 10 - that's when I first started counting the hours and days.  Went to neuro just this past week and he partially diagnosed cluster, but encourged me to read more - that's all it took, with each bit of iformation I read the more things made sense. I'm just glad others are here. Makes me feel safer and better about getting good information from people who know :)

Here's some common treatments. Whats next is you get all knowed up about CH, get a treatment plan, work out your timing and treatments, then go about your business after you kick the demon bastard out of your life.
Watch out for the narcotics, they dont work for CH. They do help with breathing while enduring a kip 9 headbanger, but mostly do more harm than good. Look into getting some 02.You'll be glad you did.
Welcome and dont be askeered of asking questions.

Welcome to the  "family"  that you just became a part of.   We will try to help you get through the maze of information about this condition of ours anyway we can,  and answer any questions you may have.

Oxygen info. is in a link to the left of here.   That's where I would start.

again, welcome and don't feel afraid to ask us anything.  Believe me.  We've heard everything.  lol  ;)

On the left are some tabs, click the one that say's the kip scale.
Its how we judge the level of pain. It applies to clusterheadache pain.
It's in it's own category. :)
