Title: I am new member
Post by Mrs. Wishbone on Jul 14th, 2008 at 12:03am
Hi there.  I am a new member.  My husband (the clusterhead) and I attended the Dallas convention.  We got back home today.  Wow.  Very informative.  Met some awesome people.  My husband has had cluster headaches for over 12 years now and we continue to learn how to handle them.  We learned alot in Dallas and it is nice to know others with this (I can't think of an adjective bad enough to describe) medical condition.  Thanks to all those we met this weekend for being so welcoming!

Hugs....
Mrs.  Wishbone

(I hope I am doing this right!??)

Well I see you did find the message board and managed to post, so yes I'd say you are doing it right.  ;D

Welcome!

Bill

Much to my dismay I missed Dallas, just wanted to send a HUGE hug  [smiley=hug.gif] your way for being a supporter for your husband. My wifey has put up with me and CH for 28 years, without you supporters I don't think we'd keep our sanity. Thanks for being there.

Mrs. Wishbone,

I have yet to make a convention but plan to do so!  Welcome to the forum!  As most of us well know, dealing with CH's is an exhausting and toll taking experience to say the least. It takes a very strong person to deal with them.  The only thing that I can think of that would even come close to experiencing CH's, is supporting or watching a loved one deal with them or go through them.  That too takes a very strong person to deal with.  As my wife agrees and I'm sure your do to, CH's not only effect the sufferer but everyone that has contact with the sufferer, especially emmidiate family members who have a front row seat to the effects of CHs.  You have chosen to support and stand by your husband.  For that, you should be commended and I thank you!  Best of wishes in your fight and PF times ahead for your husband and all of us.

Dave

Thank you for all your responses.   It is so nice to know you guys are out there and know EXACTLY what is happening!  Thank you so much.   Beth, I enjoyed meeting you in Dallas.  And Bill, it is so cool to be talking on this board to two of the great people we meet this weekend!  Do you know why my name is Mrs. Wishbone?  Because several people this weekend said my husband looked like "Wishbone" the character actor that played on I think it was the show Rawhide (sooo many years ago).  So I took a notion from Mrs. DJ and made myself Mrs. Wishbone.  Anyway.  Lawmandave, Guiseppe and AussieBrian...nice to meet you.  I have read your posts to lots of others and I now feel a part of the group since hearing from you guys!!!

Thanks again for being there,
Julie

Hi Dennis.  Thanks for your reply.  I love your tag line (if that is what you call it.  I am new here and trying to get the lingo and all down!).  Anyway, I love the line at the bottom of your message about dancing the dance, ch family member and about not be alone ANYMORE!

Julie (Mrs. Wishbone)

Thanks...  Having just come from the convention I'm sure you have an even better appreciation for what "not alone anymore" means than I do  ;)

Just wanted to say "hello", Mrs. Wishbone.  Supporters are the gold standard in human beings as far as we're concerned, and you're more than welcome here.  Glad you folks had a great time at the convention, and I'll look forward to hearing more from the two of you.

Thanks for taking care of our clusterbrother.

Best wishes,

George

Hello Mrs. Wishbone and welcome to you. I'm excited that you were able to make it to the convention as me and my clusterhead are hoping to make it next year. But this past April when we took a plane it triggered and thru Bob right into a cluster so that concerns me terribly.  Anyway, wanted to say hi and that I am here if you need me.

Hi Brooke,

Airplane altitude (I guess it is the altitude) seems to trigger my husband's headaches also.  He had one on the plane ride home.  Thank goodness it wasn't an 8-10 and he was able to handle it with Imitrex.  Hope you can make the convention next year.  It was great.  We learned some valuable information.  Thanks!

Welcome Julie,

Glad to see you posting. You were a delight to meet and hope to see you and old Wishbone (and his pots and pans :)) at every convention in the future. Now that we established Ernie's "idenity" we'll all be yelling "Head 'em up - move 'em out - Rawhide!!!"  ;D

It was really wonderful meeting you guys and you are a wonderful supporter. Take care of our CH brother and I'll see ya next year...

Hugs BD

Thanks Barbara.  We enjoyed meeting you too and we do plan to come to convention again next year.  Ernie is still in cycle but he is handling it well. (He may not think so but he is.)   Thank goodness the oxygen is helping so much (he now has a tank vs. the concentrator and he says the 100% o2 and the new mask are a huge help).  Thanks again and we are trying to "head 'em up and move THOSE HEADACHES out!!!  before he rubs the RAWHIDE off his head!!!!

Hi Julie,

This is Helen and I'm so glad you made it, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and my only regret is I was so busy that I didn't really have time to sit and socialise with enough people properly. Next year I'm going on the wednesday and staying until the monday so I can spend lots of non-BoD time with everyone on Thursday and Sunday!  ( See I CAN have it all!)

To everyone else, Julie is one of the loveliest people I've met. She has a wonderful, bubbly, caring personality and when you're with her you just feel at home, there's no other way to describe it.

Welcome to ch.com Julie, thank you for being here and thank you most of all for being you. I'm so glad I know you  :)

lots of love to you and Ernie

Helen xxx
