geting hit 4-6 times a day and having seemingly constant shadows has now lead me to try an occiptal nerve block.
i am having it done this morning and if anyone is interested i will share my results.

You should always assume we're interested.

The way to know we're not is when nobody responds to your post. ;)

Good luck, Karl.

I've done this, needles in the back of the head, makes your head and neck numb for a couple hours and then when a CH strikes your head kinda goes numb.  It didn't break my cycle, it did damping the pain a bit, pins and needles was a bit strange during the hit though.
Good Luck, I hope you make progress.

well everyone i found a doctor that told me that my ch was caused by my posture and that with the excercises and the nerve blocks i would be cured!!!!!!!   [smiley=deal2.gif]
thats right all you clusterheads sit up straight and you will be cured.
anyway i am done with my sarcasm now but it is true he did say that.
and after the onb he gave some excercises that read for migraines on top. (one of two pet peeves i have) I don't have frickin migraines you quack is what i was thinking.
after that the beast came back two hours later at the appointed time and still visits today only i think with a vengence. So i am thinking the onb was a waste of time and money  again. :-/
i am so tired and i am getting my ass kicked here guy's and i am starting to run low on fight in me.

Sorry to hear that the ONB hasn't produced the desired results, Karl.  And...posture?  Hadn't heard that one before. >:(

Keep in touch, Karl, and if you need to vent--vent.

Anybody who's had an ONB have any insight into whether it works right away (when it works), or whether it takes a bit to kick in?

Best wishes,

George

Damn Karl  >:(  I had hopes for that procedure.

As you know all too well it can take a lot of trial and error to find the solution that is right for you.  Don't loose patients.  You have to be stubborn and relentless in your search.

It sounds like your Dr isn't treating you for CH.  Is it time for a change?  I think in your heart you know.  Follow your heart Karl...

that so called dr wasn't my regular two doc's. I have a neuro with headache specialty and a very understanding and competent gp.
i guess i also have a VA doc but he just does what the specialest tells him to do. so i am cool with that.
the quacker i saw was an anesthesiologist that runs the pain clinic. no i am not going there again.
John i am still with you cause we definatly have some fishing to do with George, remember its a go for next sgring or so.
thanks for reminding me because it sounds like more fun than i have had in years and right now i need something to look foward too.

i am concerned about BrianJ in the uk sounds like he is having a hard time and i am also concerned about another person that was having a tough time but sorry my mind isn't functioning at full capacity and i have forgot his name.(oh i found it it was a mr floor)
anyway you all are my hero's cause you help me fight the good fight so i guess i will arm up for the 3oclock which is right around the corner :'(
again thank you for posting on this thread it gives me something to look foward too a couple times a day instead of the crap i am dealing with.
again you all rock!!!! 8-)

Lisa had 2 and it worked but for a very short time, less than 48 hrs. but that was a nice break for her only to return to a full heavy cycle. Dhe infusion, inpatient, seemed to break it better.

I am very sorry Karl that the GON didn’t give you some PF time,
I have (as you know) used the GON, and did get some substantial
PF time.
I wonder what did the Anaesthesiologist give you, did he use “just”
Lido, or did he use Betametason?
Now to the other statement the “Anaesthesiologist” made, which made me wonder,
is ch s caused by posture?  I will have to ask the Anaesthesiologist at the pain Klink
what dose he thinks about this…….  and wonder how will the neurologist look at me
when I tell her about this new discovery…….  she is a neurologist  / psychiatrist, and I bet
she will tell me to start and think about getting my head “fixed”
and give me that sorry look…… the one I get, when I come with a stupidity,
I have figured it all out, I have the long desired cure.

Michael

hi wildhaus;
yes he used lido and betamethasone. i really wanted to laugh when that bonehead anesthesiologist was trying to show me how to do the excercise's there in the treatment room.
oh well i will continue on i guess, i pretty sure my neuro will have a laugh to. after all was said and done i was told that the bill would run around 2000.00 US dollars.
all that for two injections and some pictures of my bad posture ;D
