Just wondering if anyone is up for a get together in one of these locations.

I live north of charlotte in the Lake Norman area.  I would be interested -  Chuck, Catlind and Racer1 and I think Sailpappy(?)  live in NC too.   I have seen another guy on here recently from Matthews area and I talked to a girl back in september from South Carolina.  Seems like there are quite a few of us-

Looks like you live in Columbia- is that about an hour south of Charlotte?

Hi Kelly,
Yes we are about an hour South of Charlotte.  Adam actually works in Charlotte often, it would be great for him to meet some people in the area.  We have no problem coming to Charlotte for a m & g.  It would have to be on a weekend for us and probably for most people.  Hopefully, we will get some more interest generated.

Thanks,
Louise :) 8-)

Yes, it is time to do this again!  It has been quite a while since we had a well notified one.  The last one, was great, at Jen's house, but it was not well broadcast, so not too many showed up, but that is ok, too!

We need to pick a date, and a restaurant to meet at.  Charlotte has been mentioned, as a city to meet in.  That works for me!  Now, who knows the area well, and knows of a restaurant (that allows smoking) to meet at?  We need a placed that will allow us to linger, as we most likely WILL!!!

If we are REAL nice (very hard for me to do) maybe we can talk Cat into hosting a spring cookout at her place, out in the Asheville area.  It looks like she has enough room to have one.

Anyhow, let's get going on this!

Chuck

I don't know a lot places in downtown  charlotte- I really only ever get there for soccer tournaments , airport, things like that-  but am more familiar with North Charlotte ( Like Harris Blvd area)

There are a bunch of places off of that exit- exit 18  but not sure if smoking is allowed ( I could call and check)

Let me know what ideas you have and i could assist-

Anyplace that has good food, a smoking area (can be a bar) and won't mind us hanging around a while will work.

And it would be GREAT if the bar tender knew how to make a GOOD extra dry, gin, martini!!!  (Not getting my hopes up, though)

Midtown Sundries in charlotte around the University area has a bar and restraunt( why am I having trouble spelling?) .  I have been to the one in Cornelius on the Lake and its kind of like a sports bar but also with a full service resturant.

they have the usual fare for that kind of place.. ribs, chicken, sandwiches etc.  Decent food not gourmet or anything.

But since its a bar too, they allow smoking and stay open quite late.  Sometimes they have karoke etc.

I am not good at providing links and the like but if you google Midtown Sundries in Charlotte you'll find it.

If this option doesn't appeal to you guys, let me know.   I can check some more places.

If that doesn't work another option is that  we could have the meet and greet at my house in early january or really any other time after christmas holidays.  I live in Mooresville .   Smoking would be an outside affair though.

Let me know!

Nothing says we can't do both.  ;)

Hello everyone.

Mooresville is fine with me.  Also, I have emailed the location in Charlotte, Midtown Sundries, and asked about the smoking, lingering and yes, Chuck the gin martini.  I would prefer December 27 or 28, but could probably do most any weekend day.  Adam and I both work weekdays, as I am sure most everyone does.  Let's take a vote on date and location.

Sounds like we will meet on December 27th at 1:00.  I am going to call Midtown today and make arrangements.  I am going to plan on 10 and hopefully we will be at least 6.

You have no idea how much Adam and I are looking forward to actually meeting you. :D

Okay, as for directions, go to this site, START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE, go to the University location and you can get a map.  It does not appear to be too far off of 77 so should be easy enough.

It really isn't too far off of Exit 18/ Harris Blvd.  Lots of stoplights on Harris and its a few miles down Harris on the left -  theres a shopping center I think behind it -  ( I am picturing it )

Hello, I noticed your posting about a M & G in Charlotte, NC.  I'm new to the site and was just looking around.  I'm currently in Texas for business, but I live in Fayetteville, NC and would have loved to have been able to make it.  I won't be back in that area until late Jan.  Then I have to move to FL by late Feb.  Oh well, if I would have just found this website earlier.  Anyway, good luck to you all and have fun.

Ain't nuttin' sayin' we cain't have 'nuther one in February!

Besides, there may be some that cannot make the December one, but would be willing do meet for one in February.  Seeing you are in Fayetteville, maybe we could all meet up in Raleigh, and have one in the EASTERN part of NC ...

If you have never met another clusterhead, you NEED to!  Talk to us more about when you will be here, and we will do it again.  Even if only two or three show up, it will be worth it!

Hell, I don't live that far from Fayetteville, so I can just drive on down there to meet you myself, da hell with all the other wackos people!  LOL!

Let me know, I would love to meet with you!

Chuck

Absolutely!!  I have a feeling that once I get started with this group it will become an addiction. Better for it to be with PEOPLE than other things.

Love to meet again, late January or February.  We will certainly do our best to get you hooked up with this, what I assume to be, very crazy, friendly group.

Let us know,
Louise
