Carol. my experience with conventions says no photos before 4 in the afternoon. Brew and I have been amongst the earliest risers at Davcon and most attendees didn't show up before noon. . . .

I have great news for all the Lou-Con attendees. Christy and I will arrive at 6:30 PM on Friday. We have been packaging several bottles of San Diego's 85 degree weather, and will open them upon landing in Saint Louis. While it is negative 2 there today...(I would think someone would have to be sentenced to living in a place that cold)....by my calculations I can raise it to close to 30 degrees...a much more tolerable temperature!!!!!!!!!!!!

(My wife has already asked a few pointed questions about that "Chuck Guy"......sigh :-/)

LAST MINUTE CHANGE OF PLANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to get a flight dirt cheap (which alleviates Clark (understandable if not rational) fear of me driving after the seizures, and I can actually fly there cheaper than I could have driven!! I LOVE military travel sites!

I'll see everyone tomorrow night around 10 p.m :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Joyce and I so wanted to be there with all of you in St. Louis, but the logistics of our family gathering in Hawaii to honor my father's wish to have his ashes scattered at sea off Pearl Harbor made a swing through to see all of you much too difficult. The call on Skye was the next best thing to being there with you.

Please enjoy the bonds you've built and strengthen the bonds with new members to our cluster headache family... There is nothing comparable.

Okay, I know why you post all these pics. It is to make anyone who has no sense decide to hell with everything else, let's get there. I am trying to talk Adam into being as impulsive as I am. He is picking me up for lunch today and I am going to plead my case. Wish me luck. I really can't stand not being there. It's been about a month since CHUCK grabbed my ass and I think I need a fix. THANKS!!!!!! Steph. I think this could work. But I have to let you know who the players are here, just so you know. Adam is my son and the CHer in our family. My husband I don't really worry about because he just follows the leader. Not always a good thing. I am going to try to pull this off, but they can be stubborn. Maybe if I pout, don't cook, and I know, I'll just tell them I am going by myself!!. That should do it. They wouldn't dare let me do that, anyway I am pretty sure Adam wouldn't. Rick, who knows, he may not even know I am gone. I'm just giving him a hard time. After being married 41 years, sometimes you just don't really miss them.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll let you know after lunch the reaction I get from Adam. We may need a floor somewhere to crash on, if we can't get a room.

Well----------Adam just unloaded the bad news on me. He has to work this weekend to finish a job so he can go to Charlotte on Monday and start another one. Someone always rains on my parade. I tried to find a cheap flight, but $600 - $800 is out of the question. It's a 12 hour drive, no way I can do it alone in that short period of time. So, as much as I would love to just be able to twitch my nose and be there, doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Chuck, you and I, and who ever else, will just have to getogether with the newbie in Raleigh or Fayetteville. I haven't heard back from him as to when he is going to be back this way. I'm sure Bill will relay the best stories when we get together to talk CONVENTION. Just will not be the same.

How many of you are there. This may give us an indication as to how many we might expect in July.

Anyway, have a great time. I'll be thinking about you.

I am originally from Kansas. I can take the 100's there with no problem. South Carolina has to be the hottest place on the planet in the summer. And our heat starts in April and to thru November most of the time. Football games are a drench fest. The humidity is usually as high as the temp. That's why I love Asheville so much. At least the summer is not as hot or humid, they actually have winter and it is just generally a cool place.

Didn't want to get into a hotter than you thang, but I am looking forward to July in STL.

Jeannie....St. Louis in July couldn't be any worse than Nashville, or Dallas in July. In fact the only convention we ever had that wasn't hot and humid as hell, was in upstate New York.

BTW...how are you all liking the accomodations at this hotel? I know the price is right, but what about the rest of it?

We made it, a little rough coming through southern Illinois, north of Springfield, icey, there were several cars in the ditch both sides, and a couple upside down, Ambulance was loading someone in as we passed, but we made it through, and the sun starting to shine as we came farther north.

It was great to meet all the "new"and see all the "old" again....

Boy the weekend sure went fast. A lot of new people this time that I had not met and you know what? I liked them all.

A few of us are talking about a fall meet and greet in Las Vegas around the 1st of Oct. Just giving you guys a heads up.

We had a great time and thank you JDH and Sue and Jeanne for the special work that you guys did. And thank you Ruthie for the kind gifts that you gave us all. BTW, my Ruth won $777 on slots so my trip was free. :P

We made it home in a little over 6 hours. Much better than the 8+ it took to get there.....no ice this time.... :)

It was a great time. We really enjoyed meeting the new folks and of course it's always wonderful to see old friends again.

Oh....JDH, just so you know....I had to unload the vehicle all by myself because Blake is out in the front yard casting.... ::)

We are finally home and settled in. We made it here in a little over 6 hours thanks to some speedy driving by Phil, thanks for that honey ;) The roads didn't get too bad until we were about 45 minutes away from home.

It was great to finally be able to put some faces with the names on the board and it was a pleasure to meet all of you. Thanks for welcoming us with open arms.

This is what happens when you hang out with Chuck ALL weekend!

And about 45 minutes after this picture was taken Brandon proceeded to get sick...EVERYWHERE!! [smiley=hurl.gif] We were literally a mile away from a rest stop...Thank you God...and only 50 miles from home! Poor little guy! He had dinner and a nice warm bath and seems to be doing ok.

For those that will start to wonderf who the hell these people are, that is (the other) Stephanie Johnson, DJ's cousin and her boyfriend Nick. They came down to have some fun with us Friday night at the casino and Saturday for lunch with Framcire and Lobster.

First of all it was great to see all the photo's, thank you to each and everyone who posted them.....It looked like 2 people stole the show, #1 was Brandon (no one came close to that adorable child) #2 Chuck.....

There was 1 photo that actually made me choke on some peanuts as i was going thru them ( the one where Chuck was giving Joe that lap dance) i loved the expression on Joe's face.....If we could only read the minds at the time.....

The final plane landed at 11:38PM, and I got home, shortly after midnight.

I wish I could say it was an uneventful trip home, but the beast saw to it that it wasn't boring (damn him!) ... FIVE times ... Sure glad I had lots of 'trex in my pockets!

Now I am afraid to do it, but guess I have to see the damage to my bank account ....

<sigh>

But it was worth every penny and then some!

i finally made if home. seeing all of you was the only good thing i got out of being gone for a month. i went from cleveland to oklahoma to dallas to shreveport to austin to chicago to indianapolis before i made it to
st. louis. i delivered in salt lake that following tuesday and sat there for a couple days then sat out in cheyenne then down to good old denver to sit around hang out for the weekend. then on to nashville and ended up in harrisburge pa. then home.

i regret that i didn't come in and say goodbye. that laid heavy on my mind all the way out to utah. :-/

next time i'll probably cruise out in my van. i don't think i can do this truck drivin shit too much longer.
