Title: spoofing????
Post by midwestbeth on Aug 24th, 2009 at 4:33pm
Occasionally when I log on I will get some message about spoofing and my ip.  I copied and was going to paste, then had to get to work on something else and copied over it (ooops!)

DJ, is something funky going on with my ip and logging on to this site?  Anyone else get a similar message when logging on?  It has happened about 6-8 times now.

Nope, nothing like that Beth...but each time I log on it says  There have been 104 guests on the board today. There have been 123 members on the board today: and it lists every members name that have been on. Has it been so busy all week or is it a glitch on my system.

Beth,

Several people have gotten this message but it seems to go away after a few minutes and everyone has been able to get logged in (as far as I know).

I'm goin got look into this further and see what I can find out.

DJ, Ms Deej

Just got the "form spoofing" alert . . . I assume my IP address . . . it is my location and server.

I did accept and "invitation to add" from a new member last couple of days on yahoo . . . had a long chat . . . advised that the pm feature on the (ch.com) site is what we usually use and not limited in characters as with yahoo . . . did I screw up?

Will sign out and back in.

. . .and while I'm thinking tech stuff . . . how do I get rid of (or shorten) the address bar (for lack of a better term) that extends into my messages?

  Thanks,

    Richard

  Sorry . . . one more question

Are the numbers in the  "address bar" (399/194) supposed to be part of the IP address?  If so, even stranger . . . doesn't match any part of the IP address shown in the "Alert"

Hey there, Richard...   :)

After the m/b upgrade, the "location" bar message for most of us went kerflewy for whatever reason.

It's a manual fix--you can update your profile, and change it.  No big.

Best,

George

Thanks George,

If I did it right, shouldn't have the location bar extending into the message now.

Have logged in three times now without the spoofing "Alert" . . . so I guess that's fixed too.

  Thanks again,

    Be  Safe,

      Richard
