Minocycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic.

Quote from the WP article: “Current research is examining the possible neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects of minocycline against progression of a group of neurodegenerative disorders including multiple sclerosis (MS), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Huntington's disease, and Parkinsons disease,[12]  amongst others neurodegenerative diseases.[13][14][15]”

As far as I know there is nothing “in print” about Minocycline & CH yet.

Acc. to word of mouth Minocycline has been used to treat a couple of CH patients successfully. Treatment recommendation was 2 x 100 mg/day to be taken for 3 – 4 weeks. A CH patient I know became completely pain free after a long CH episode after 14 days with this treatment + daily preventive Eletriptan. He stopped taking both medications after 12 days and became completely pain free after 14 days. Perhaps coincidence; but his neurologist said that Minocycline worked very well for some of his CH patients.

As many medications Minocycline can have severe side effects. Please check with your doctor, and if you decide to give it a try please share the results with us. Has anybody already had any experience with Minocycline?
