Well my man started lithium recently. Now instead of getting a headache everyday he gets them every other. We are hoping he is going to get to go to a headache specialist soon. Insurance stinks. His seem to be chronic he has never had a remission period since we've been together that's been over a year now.

Don't give up hope yet, I went 11 months before my first episode finished.

I hope lithium works for him.

Lithium has been my prevent for many years. I started at 900 mg a day and it blocked 70-80% of my attacks. As I've aged, (51 now) we've kicked the dose up to 1200 a day and it blocks closer to 60-70% of my attacks. Typical of the beasts ability to morph around your meds! >:(Takes a good 2 weeks to become effective for me. Hope it works as well for him.

Thanks guys. I hope it helps him too. But it's been a month and nothing yet. They keep upping his dose. :(

Every other day is better than everyday...just trying to look on the bright side :)

Sometimes it takes a little bit to get the dosage right. I hope that it starts working for him soon.

Lithium and verapamil have proved to be a good CH cocktail for many.

Like FlipperGirl says....hang in there, Sweetie.
