Title: flying with O2 Post by wimsey1 on Jun 30th, 2011 at 8:14am
OK, I know we've discussed this before, but I have a friend who is on O2 for respiratory issues, and Delta airlines is allowing him to fly to Shreveport LA with his own tanks on board. His daughter is a RN and said they had no choice. It was illegal for them to prevent someone medically needy from flying due to restrictions. So...just curious. Any experience here with this? Do you think airlines would accept CHs and not just COPD? This could be a game changer for me. Blessings. lance

Boy, game changer is an understatement. Would probably take a test case....... :-/

I've heard of airlines allowing COPD patients to fly with concentrators, but not pressurized tanks.

I spoke recently with the man whose daughter said her father took his tanks with him....nope, it was a concentrator. No tanks. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Blessings. lance

There are certain rules and many airlines are very careful for using these things.
