Title: Twitchy Eyelid and muscles
Post by mfocht on Apr 10th, 2016 at 1:18am
Hi everybody!
Does anybody else experience twitchy muscles during the cluster cycle? It seems to begin about an hour before my headaches begin and stops around the same time it ends.

Lots of clusterheads experience this, it's known as "twitching".

Have been on the D3 for a couple of weeks now and it has worked admirably. Kind of like a protective armor for my CH. I still get symptoms but I can tell it is working. The twitches are pretty obnoxious but it is way better than going through an attack (obviously).

I get a twitchy eyelid but I've never thought to associate it with CH.

The twitch I really hate, and I know it's related to CH, is when my leg starts to bounce.

Hate, hate, Hate!!!

Them eye twitchers can be related to magnesium or other electrolyte deficiency such as potassium.

Foods that have eliminated them and leg cramps for me in the past have been the high mineral content stuff like organic celery and organic potato skins. I wouldn't be surprised if the minerals in the D3 regimen (if you're not already on it) could kill off some of your twitches.

I've been twitching like crazy lately.  Its usually the left eye which is the opposite side of my cycle

I am new here...  46 yr old male.  Been having what I believe are Cluster Headaches since I was 19.  Intense stabbing pain behind my left eye, only lasts for 2-3 seconds, followed by watery eyes, runny nose, speech impairment, lethargy, twitching in my left hand, weakness in my left knee (walk like I am drunk).  I experience aftershocks where my whole body seems to "twitch" to the right...  no pain.   Not the worst condition - relative to others - but any help is appreciated.   Caffeine helps with the aftershocks and lethargy.   Thank you.  :)

I also get the watery eyes, yawning, not being able to speak thing happening.

G'day Jim and welcome. Jump on your googler and have a look at Ice Pick Headaches and see if that looks close.

Either way, give us an idea where you live and we'll see if we can help with finding a headache specialist somewhere near.

Good luck and stay in touch because we'll help in any way we can,

Brian.

Muscle spasms often occur due to pinched nerves.  Twitching can be a sign of a pinched nerve.

For 29 yrs I have gotten the CH side twitch. It lasts the duration of the cycle. Below my left eye, the twitch appears to be random.

Yes! For the first time this CH cycle, which is like my 25th cycle, my lower right eyelid was twitching sporadically, whether I was having a CH or not. The doctor said it's stress. The CH cycle is winding down. Will see if eye twitch, which seems to be abating, ceases. The twitch was in the same eye affected by the CHs. I will up my D3 intake after reading posts on this thread.
