Interesting reading about someone who recorded details of 4600 CHs over a 6 year period, which averages out to 2.1 CHs / day.

The article says that 400mg / day of verapamil helped, but the side effects were too significant. However there is no mention of this or any other preventative in the freely available content.

What surprises me is that the average severity on a scale of 0-10 was only 3.6 when for many using the Kip scale this would be more like mild shadows. However everyone judges their level of pain differently. But I do like the conclusion as it highlights that what we call shadows are still very much a part of CH.

Conclusion
Clinical characteristics of cluster headache attacks can vary greatly within the individual patient. Clinicians attempting to personalise the administration of preventive treatment should pay notice to the variation over time in diurnal rhythmicity. The recorded self-limiting mild attacks that do not fulfill the ICHD-3 criteria for a cluster headache attack warrant further investigation, as they could hold important information about disease activity.
