Title: Nirvana - Aneurysm
Post by RickJim on Aug 18th, 2019 at 12:55am
From my Facebook wall:

As some of you know I suffer from episodic cluster headaches. No, this is not a message to victimize myself. I can deal with the fucking beast myself (as sufferers call the headaches). I have dealt with the beast for 20 years now. Nonetheless some people have asked me how does it feel when the headaches come, how do I deal with the anxiety and the fear... I find this Nirvana song the perfect example of how I feel when I know the beast is coming and I know no medication will stop it... and then the song slows down, same as sometimes the headaches slows down deceivingly and then increases to its maximum for a grand finale... The pain of a cluster headache is similar to the pain of an aneurysm... a migraine i a walk in the park... sometimes I just fucking challenge the beast to the Nirvana - Aneurysm lyrics.... challenging the headaches somehow makes me feel more in control...

Come on over
Do the twist (aha)
Overdo it
Have a fit (aha)
Come on over
Shoot the shit (aha)
Love you so much
Makes me sick (aha)
Beat me out of me (beat it, beat it)

yeah yeah the song is dedicated to a woman that Kurt Cobain was afraid to approach, and that's why he wrote it... but in my case works... I dedicate it to my girl the beast!

To poorly quote an old saying,  "Music has charms to soothe a savage beast".

Glad you've found something that helps,  old mate,  because it's our way of fighting back!

Keep up the good fight,  and never give the sucker an even break,

Brian down under.

I'm not sure anything can reflect the real pain of a Kip 10 CH that anything other than someone who has been there can really understand.

Just as anyone watching a YouTube video of someone having a CH just won't have a real idea of what they are going through, other than again someone who has been through it themselves.

AussieBrian - Thank you! never a break!

Mike NZ - Sometimes even the people that have seen me with a KIP 10, they don't understand it. I have lost intimate relationships, girlfriends breaking up with me  in the middle of my cycle, because they think I am exaggerating! They don't understand the depression and the anxiety that it brings... and of course the tremendous pain.

DJ who set up this site has the following as part of his signature:

Quote:
Adversity does not build character... it reveals it.

CH doesn't just reveal the character of people with CH, but sadly it can show the true character of those around us.

There have been some heartbreaking posts here of some amazing supporters but also some who have taken advantage of people when they really need help.

Although I'm glad that very, very few people around the world have any real idea of what a CH is like, never mind a K10.
