Update on my friend Ryan Williams...
Jun 20th, 2008 at 8:36am

So many of you said prayers for Ryan and it warmed my heart, I promised to update as I could.  Ryan has lymphoma. I received this from my Mum this morning:

Quote:
Hi all, thank you all for your prayers, Ryan starts his chemo tomorrow June 20th/08 It will be every 2 weeks for 12 weeks, he will be getting double dose, so please keep the prayers coming, and thank you all again

Because I want to keep it going.....

Sheelagh

Dear God, I pray for the cure of cancer.  Amen

All you are asked to do is keep
this circulating.
Even if it's to one more person.
In memory of anyone you know that has been
struck down by cancer or is still living with it.

Please Keep This Candle Going!

Thank you all, your prayers and vibes and thoughts mean the world to me.  Ryan and his siblings are quite literally the very first friends for life I've ever had.

Hey Cat - I know several people with lymphoma and although it is a nasty cancer, I've seen great results from the chemo. If Ryan would like to talk to another person with lymphoma let me know and I can get you the information. My thoughts and prayers are with the both of you.

Hi Cat,

I have had three family members diagnosed with lymphoma in the last 5 years.  All are now healthy and living their lives cancer free.  Medicine has made great stides in treating this awful disease.

That being said, I will keep your friend Ryan in my prayers.  It is a difficult fight, but a fight that can be won.

Hugs, Beth

Update:

I spoke to Joanne, Ryan's sister (she's the one living in New Zealand).  We had a wonderful chat, and she's coming to Canada July 15th so I am planning to go see her and the family.

I let her know of all the prayers that were said and continue to be said by the group here.  I told her what Jim and Beth said, and it gave Joanne the hope she desperately needed.

They found the lymphoma early, and the prognosis is very good.  I attribute a good deal of that to the miracles this group can perform.

21 is just too young to deal with this.  We always called him Boo, and he has a special place in the hearts of all of us who know him.  Ryan is doing well, although tired from the chemo, right now it's his Mum and Dad that are hurting.  I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to face a life threatening illness with your child.

Thank you all, you have not only made my day, but you raised the spirits of Ryan's sister. Something she desperately needed being so far away.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Much Love
Cat
