For people who have never met a Fellow CH'er

Reading about the Convention.  Got me thinking about meeting BlueMeanie when he came to Vegas.

It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life and to be honest I was not prepared for the emotion that came with it.  I was going to meet him for lunch at the casino they where staying in.  All we told each other was where to meet, the time and I told him that I was a tall blonde.  I was looking around the front door of the restaurant, and this stranger and I looked at each other and we both just KNEW that we found a kindred soul.  We both just smiled and gave each other this huge hug.   I was really damn close to crying.

We sat and ate and talked.  Gods, about anything and everything.  It was something akin to magical.  To be able to talk about a hit and not have to explain what that means.  Just knowing that he (and the rest of his family) knew what it meant. What it is like to feel the helplessness and anger, the pain and sadness.

And saying goodbye (because after a 2 hour lunch I knew I better get my ass back to work) was one of the hardest things that I ever had to do.

I want my husband to meet a CH'er too. So that he can know that there are people who understand what he is going thru.  I think that this would be one of the greatest things for him.  He refuses to come to the board here, but he asks what is going on here, so I know that he realizes that this is a place that he can come.

So to make a long story very very short, because there are not enough words to ever explain what it felt like to meet a fellow CH'er.

If you ever get a chance to meet fellow Cluster head, and or supporter, then take the time to do it.  It is a life changing experience.

Because the one truth that I have come to believe over the years is;

While the Beast hits each and every sufferer differently, the same strength of spirit that is takes to fight him shines thru each and every ClusterHead and their supporters. And it is that light that guides us to each other in the darkness of the pain and helplessness. That light guided DJ to make this sight. It brought us all here what other proof is needed that the Gods have a twisted sense of humor, by hooking up all of these hard headed, stubborn, sharp-tongued, big hearted, loving amazing individuals together.  Wink

Blessed Be, Clusterville.
